Join us later to celebrate the 43rd UAE National Day, Aldar Properties will be organising a 4 day festival at du Arena, Yas Island. The festivities and celebrations will be happening during the course of 4 days (December 2 to 5) in the evening hours, starting from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and feature the Bedouin village with market, stage with performances and F&B section.

The first two days (December 2-3) the festival will primarily feature the Bedouin village with various activities for visitors, such as the market featuring selected aspiring local clothing/accessories brands, henna and face paint, traditional Emirati sweets, horse-back and camel-back riding, food & beverage section and a large hot air balloon attraction.

Following on that, on December 4th and 5th, the event will have a stage installed for live performances of artists, musicians and performers to excite and bring larger footfall..

The entrance to the festival is free as well and the invites are sent to all Aldar communities and developments reaching out to at least 50,000 people in the first run.

Held each year in July, the Liwa Date Festival promotes and celebrates the symbolic and historic role that the date palm plays in Emirati culture. The festival revolves around the date competition, in which Emirati farms vie for the title of best date grower. Non-locals can attend and it's an incredible way to experience Emirati culture up close.

The Liwa Date Festival turned into an annual meeting for heritage and folklore lovers and people greeting Abu Dhabi land’s riches and dates. The 8th Festival is held in Liwa in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region – an oasis that has remained the green gate of the desert throughout the centuries.

Since its start eight years ago, the festival seeks to make the palm trees and dates as a symbol of the authenticity of the past, a source of riches for the present, and a guarantee for the future, an embodiment to the wisdom of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God rest his soul) the founding father of the UAE.

The festival is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. The festival, with its heritage, culture and economic dimensions, supports Abu Dhabi’s efforts to have Liwa and the western region on the world’s tourism map.
