The UAE flag, a symbol of pride, loyalty and belonging for both Emiratis and expats was risen today at Imperial College Diabetes & Endocrine Centre, Al Khaleej Al Arabi on the joyous occasion of UAE Flag Day. Management and staff of HealthPlus Network of Specialty Centers and Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi also participated in the ceremony.

Yesterday, our team visited the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafra, where we offered glucose screenings and personalised consultations by our diabetes educator.

Snaps from our event last weekend at Marina Mall Abu Dhabi. The focus of the event was to spread awareness about eye health on the occasion of . Over a period of 3 days our team provided general eye checkups and blood sugar tests to all mall visitors. On the side of the stand, we showed people the effects of eye conditions and complications though special lenses of different glasses. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

على مدار ثلاثة أيام، قدم فريقنا فحوصات عامة للعيون واختبارات لمستوى السكر في الدم لجميع زوار المول.
كما عرضنا على جانب الحدث تأثير أمراض ومضاعفات العين من خلال عدسات خاصة.

Our Story

Launched in 2007, ‘Diabetes.Knowledge.Action’ is the nation’s award-winning public health awareness campaign from Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC). It is now the UAE’s longest running public health awareness initiative. The campaign carries the patronage of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, and aims to help the nation prevent, manage and even reverse diabetes with a particular focus on lifestyle choices. The campaign comprises of four specific actions to support a healthy lifestyle, falling under carefully considered campaign pillars – each reaching out across the community: 1. Cook for Life – looks to inspire families to cook healthy meals 2. Eat for Life – invites children, parents and carers to consider what is a balanced diet 3. Play for Life – promotes regular exercise for healthy living to employees through an annual football tournament 4. Walk for Life – encourages the community to take at least a 30-minute brisk walk each day
