✨ The Shadow Side of Saying Yes ✨

Every time we say “Yes” when our soul longs to say “No,” a little of our energy leaks away.

Carl Jung reminded us that what we repress becomes our shadow. Many of us carry the “Yes-Person” archetype — smiling on the outside, yet drained within.

Manifestation is not just about affirmations or light. It is about reclaiming your energy. Every aligned “No” is an act of self-love, a way to strengthen your vibration and free your shadow from controlling you.

🌑 Pause. Notice. Ask yourself:
Am I saying Yes from love, or from fear?

Each conscious “No” brings you closer to wholeness — and to manifesting a life that feels true. 💫

Here are some common reasons why we say Yes when we actually mean to say NO….

* We want to please others
* We feel guilty when we say No
* We fear others thinking we’re not good enough
* We’re afraid of confrontation
* We think if we say no the job will never get done
* We want validation from others that we’re ‘nice’
* We fear rejection/ losing relationships

Most of us do this out of habit and don’t even realize it’s become a habit. When we do this we’re creating unwanted energy in the form of resentment, anger, unworthiness, fatigue, stress to name a few.

Saying No is not easy for so many of us and that’s ok! Let’s think of it as a skill we need to develop. It will take time and it will rattle us initially, but we will get there. Take baby steps… Remember to Pause, Reflect, set an intention and THEN Respond. Think of a kind way to convey your No and as you do so don’t expect others to understand you right away and accept your no - especially if they’ve been habituated to you being their Yes man. Give them time to accept the authentic you. When you respond from a place of love and with kindness, most people will eventually understand.

Think again….Insomnia and anxiety are your mind’s way of taking revenge when you refuse to address certain issues during the day. Take some time daily to Pause … Reflect… Understand, What is it that’s making you anxious? What is causing you pain and how so? And as you do this also remember to reflect on Things that Excite you!

Maintaining a Journal, digital or physical, is the best way to record your thoughts and sift through them. Then take stock every month to see what patterns emerge. You’ll be surprised how much more you will learn about yourself and how you can help yourself emerge from some long standing emotions and situations that are holding you back and making you feel stuck.

Being aware of your Stress Signature can be hugely helpful in relieving stress. Here are some cues to look out for:

For instance on a physical level you may notice a change in your breathing pattern, you may get tension headaches, muscle tension, palpitations, feel fatigued, nauseous.
On a psychological level you could be tearful, moody, emotionally reactive, worry, feel low in confidence, tend to blame others.
On a behavioral level you might notice change in sleeping pattern and in eating habits, be aggressive or withdrawn, manage your time poorly, be absent or late to work.
Once you’ve identified your Stress Signature, you can take proactive steps to manage it. If you’re unable to identify it, don’t be shy to ask your loved ones. Most often they know you better than you can imagine.

It's so important to Build your Inner Circle of Family & Friends...those who you can trust, who will give you honest feedback even if you don't want to hear it, who will provide the moral support you need and be there for you no matter what, who will hold you accountable for your choices and will love you no matter what!

When we're younger, we think we can take on the world all by ourselves (giggle!) It's true at the time we were able to do a lot of things 'alone' and were happy doing so, it gave us a sense of independence (made us feel powerful even) but as life goes by, we realize the importance of our closest friends and family who have always stood by us through our ups and downs and for whom we are (almost) always there too.

We tend to take our Inner Circle for granted at times, but I urge you to Pause and make time for these loving people in your life; you will give AND get joy in the process!

And remember YOU decide 'Who makes it to your Inner Circle'. At times we mistake acquaintances for friendship and allow the wrong/toxic people/ strangers into our personal space. Be intentional and make the right choices!
