As women, many of us don’t realise that our mood, energy, cravings, the way we handle stress, etc. are often a result of our hormones reacting to how they wake and how they rest.

Your body loves rhythm.

Your hormones need rhythm.

A chaotic morning can have us feeling scattered and on high alert (in a way that does not serve us).

A stimulated late-night can block melatonin and disrupt our nervous system.

If this is chronic, it results in disruption of our monthly cycles as well.

When we live out of sync with nature’s cues… We feel it — in our mood, focus, patience and can even mess with our ability to connect to our intuition.

Simple rituals around waking + winding down can reset everything: your stress, your energy, your hormones, your inner balance.

And this is just a part of what we create together inside She Rises: A Whole Woman Reset — rituals that support your biology and your becoming.

Common is NOT normal!!

The number of women I know that battle with different hormonal, stress related and societal pressure issues is shocking (and often intertwined).

The revelation of just how many of us are struggling made me want to dig deeper and learn more about the underlying factors we as women knowingly or unknowingly face more often than not.

If you know me from class, a retreat or even socially, I hope you know how important it is for me to make impact in the things that I do and to inspire and empower others to live the best version of their lives.

Starting mid-November I will taking on only a few clients for Women’s Empowerment Coaching. This is for those who are going through transition, want to make a shift in their lives (career, relationship, health, etc.) and need some support to do so.

Your gut called… it wants a plus one 💌

Combining our foods intentionally is how we can keep things flowing smoothly (if you know what I mean 😏).

I didn’t realise how emotionally off balance contraceptive was making me feel.

I went through deep depressions cyclically and I thought there must be something wrong with me.

It wasn’t until I dug deeper that research shows that the pill can effect you in this way.
When I realised this, this was the reason I made my second attempt at coming off birth control.

I have never felt more grounded and have not once since stopping the pill experienced a bout of depression.

If you’re thinking about coming off birth control for any reason—whether it be similar to mine or something different like wanting to have a baby—there are things to consider before you do.

You are essentially switching your hormones back on, and if they are not balanced, you may experience things like weight gain, abnormal hair growth, hormonal acne, and/or other side effects.

It’s important that you:

Support your hormones.
Support your nervous system.
Support 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚.

Do things that make you feel at ease, that help you relax, and that make you feel connected to your body.

Yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, journaling, good nutritional habits are great things to consider.

Here are some great products I recommend to support your journey:

A specially formulated for women supplement – 𝑬𝑸𝑼𝑰 𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑬𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 is awesome and jam packed with what you need to get your hormones in check.

Non-Toxic Period Products – 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒆 – because what we put (and don’t) into our bodies matters.

Leaving corporate wasn’t a spontaneous leap. It was layered. Emotional. And honestly, very confronting.

This journey required more than just passion.
It required patience, self-trust, and a support system to hold me when I wasn’t sure I could hold myself.

It also consisted of multiple “pushes” from the universe to go in the direction I was meant to—
and when I didn’t listen, those forces got stronger and the lessons got harder.

Teaching yoga isn’t just a job, it’s a calling.
And getting here took years.

Financial shifts.
Identity shifts.
A complete rewrite of what ambition and success meant to me.

If you’re thinking of making a similar transition…
I see you.

BUT, be prepared—because it’s NOT EASY.
I see a lot of posts about how amazing it is, without addressing the reality of it.

It took me many tries to get where I am,
and a lot of back and forth between the security of corporate
and the fulfilment of entrepreneurship.

If it’s calling you, there’s probably a reason.
It’s your responsibility to dig deep and ask yourself the tough questions:

• Is this the right time for me - mentally, financially, emotionally, physically?
• Do I have a support system - mentally, financially, emotionally?
• Am I doing this for the right reasons?
• What are those reasons?
• Am I fully aware that the stress of the corporate world may simply be replaced by the stress of the time and patience that will be required to succeed financially, to build trust in the community and to gain a following?
• Am I fully prepared to work possibly even harder than what was required in my corporate job?

Don’t be naive or fooled by optimistic posts about making this change—
It’s huge. It’s scary.
And it’s not a decision to be taken lightly!

It’s not random that sometimes we feel more energetic and other times our patience runs so thin that we find ourselves lashing out over even the smallest of things.

We can actually support our bodies and our minds through our food choices as we move through our cycles. This is a general guide based on a 28-day cycle where there is no conception 👶🏼 and remember, ovulation happens roughly around day 14 (yes, there are ways to tell - more on that later or ask me via DM).

What’s most important is to see what works best for your body - notice and choose to do the things that make you feel your best.

That is alignment! That is what will make you feel empowered!

It costs nothing to be kind - that’s how the saying goes right?

Well, how much does it cost to be unkind is my question.

Not only does treating someone poorly likely ruin their day, diminish their confidence, break their heart in some way but what does it do to you? Bullies don’t generally feel better when they put someone down but rather it’s masking something else, a deeper hurt. And, when we continue to act in a way that puts other people down does it not ruin our days, diminish our confidence in ourselves and break our own hearts because we aren’t being the type of human that we want to be…

Even when you’re not getting your way, be kind. And if you’re unkind in an irrational moment driven by emotion then also be kind to yourself and give yourself room to reflect on where those emotions came from, what the trigger was and decide how in future you’d like to respond.

We are all learning. We all have our traumas, our triggers, our pasts so let’s be kind to one another and give grace.

Let’s believe that we are all just out there, trying our best.

And hey, admitting when you’re wrong and offering an apology can go a very long way too.

I love to challenge you.

And, I hope that when I do you see it as a pathway to where your practice could lead.
If a class feels hard, it’s not that you shouldn’t be there or that it’s ‘too advanced’ but rather that you would benefit from coming more often!

There are always options and YOU CHOOSE what is best for you on any given day.
Remember, building the foundation is actually the most challenging part so give yourself the credit that is due when option 1 is where you are.

There’s a lot I’ve changed in my life lately and I am continuing to make changes where I can to benefit my overall health.

But the reality is, there are things I’m simply not ready to give up.

Botox? Love it.

Perfume? Still wearing it.

Meat? My body says yes.

Wine? With friends, absolutely.

Clean hair and fresh armpits? They’re staying until further notice.

Because here’s the thing — wellness isn’t all or nothing.

It’s about choosing what works for you.

We are all different. We all have different triggers and, we all have our current non-negotiables.

Staying self-aware, checking in, exploring options - they are all about continued growth BUT, take the pressure off of having to do everything and instead, do what you can!

What are your non-negotiables?
