THE WONDER OF SHORT-INTENSE-INFREQUENT TRAINING
This is probably the most important article you have ever read for your fitness and well-being.
Getting excellent fat loss, toning or muscle building results is much simpler than you might think.
When it comes to training, it is baffling that the majority of people (and trainers) still cling to concepts like:
- workouts lasting an hour or more
- gym every day (or almost)
- multiple sets of the exercise to achieve an (excessive) amount of training volume.
Not only is the above wrong and ineffective, but also counterproductive.
It’s amazing that even though science has shown that short, intense and infrequent training is the best protocol for achieving the best results, people keep falling into the thought that the more and longer you train, the greater the results.
Totally wrong.
Muscle cells are like switches: either they are activated with the right intensity - the WEIGHT used - or they remain COMPLETELY inactive if this is not enough.
That means that if you think that using a lower weight prolonging the exercise time can produce effects as well, you are delusional.
Unfortunately, most gyms and trainers continue to adopt this approach, which is the reason why statistics confirm that 93% of people who join a gym do not get results or leave after 2-3 months.
To get results, it is CRUCIAL to use an appropriate weight.
Only in this way can you achieve a muscle and metabolic STIMULUS, therefore the desired results.
Long training sessions with inadequate weights, every day of the week, will not lead to significant results.
The good news is that SCIENCE (and evidence with our clients) proves that with the proper weight and exercises, 2-3 sessions per week of 40 minutes are OPTIMAL for best results.
That means just 80-120 minutes a week!
