Aster DM Healthcare secures AED265m in financing from Emirates Development Bank to accelerate expansion in Dubai

We are proud to announce our partnership with Emirates Development Bank (EDB), securing AED 265 million to accelerate our expansion in Dubai. The financing will support the launch of two new multi-specialty hospitals, adding 250+ beds to our current network and enabling treatment for over 560,000 patients annually in the UAE, in addition to the 20 million patients served across GCC.

This expansion will also create 675+ new jobs for doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, strengthening healthcare access and services across the country.

Key Highlights:
• Two new multi-specialty hospitals to be launched in Dubai
• 250+ additional beds to meet growing demand for quality healthcare
• 560,000+ additional patients expected to be treated annually in UAE
• 675+ new jobs for doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals

The agreement was signed by Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare and H.E Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of Emirates Development Bank, in the presence of Moopen, Khan and senior officials from both organisations.

Ms. Alisha Moopen, Managing Director & Group CEO, Aster DM Healthcare shared, “Aster DM Healthcare’s ongoing growth strategy for UAE is in alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 which aims to establish Dubai and UAE as a global leader in healthcare. The partnership with Emirates Development Bank represents a significant milestone in Aster’s Dubai journey which will enable us to accelerate the expansion of high-quality, multi-specialty care in the UAE – bringing world-class healthcare closer to the communities we serve.”

What began as a simple idea: transforming daily walks into life-saving actions, has now touched hundreds of young hearts.

Through the campaign, people from all walks of life came together, walking millions of steps to help fund free pediatric cardiac surgeries for underprivileged children around the world.

In just three years, we’ve enabled 164 life-transforming heart surgeries, surpassing our goal of 150.

This year's new pledge of 50 more pediatric heart surgeries was unveiled by our Chairman, Dr. Azad Moopen, along with Mr. Jim Jimeno, Vice Consul at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, during the Heart to Heart Cares 2025 Closing Ceremony held at Zabeel Park, Dubai, in the presence of our partners and hundreds of Aster Volunteers.

This year, as we pledge 50 more, we continue to believe that when humanity walks together, miracles truly happen!
