8 weeks postpartum and I’ve learned so much about myself and at the same time realize that this fourth trimester is constantly testing me. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Although everyone says it gets better, it doesn’t really always feel that way. Regardless, as exhausted as I am, I’m also so happy and so grateful. But still, so tired. But also happy. But definitely more tired...😴

This postpartum period has been a rollercoaster of events with the highest learning curve ever. As challenging, exhausting, draining and emotional as it can be, the love and gratitude I feel is overwhelming. I knew from the get go this period would be a huge toll on my body and mind and although there are so many unknowns, I knew that the best decision I made was to prepare myself in my kitchen to support my body and hence my mind to carry me through the first few weeks postpartum. Warming foods and soups (lactation promoting), healing and cleansing oils and teas (detoxifying and purifying) and as much rest and quiet as I can get is how I supported my body in the first few weeks postpartum. This turmeric ginger steel cut oats was one of my staple meals which I’ve shared a few times already but it really doesn’t get old. Recipe in my food highlight reel with all the nutrient details.
