Despite the marketing of nutritional value of protein bars, some varieties can contain more sugar and fat than a candy bar!!! Others, can be great sources of protein or calories for a quick snack. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Carbohydrates and sugars โ€”> A low carb bar should be less than 20 grams per bar. If sugar, sucrose or high fructose corn syrup is the main ingredient, donโ€™t buy it.

Fibers โ€”> Look for bars with 3 grams or more per serving.

Fats โ€”> A good bar shouldnโ€™t have any trans fats and should contain less then 3 grams saturated fats per serving. Avoid any bars with palm oil or kernel oil.

SUSHI LOVERS ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿฃ Do you love sushi but wonder how to order sushi when trying to lose weight?

Itโ€™s easy to overeat sushi and go crazy with it, thus you should be aware of itโ€™s caloric content!

Sashimi (simple raw fish ~ 30-40 Kcals) ๐Ÿค

Nigiri (fingers of sticky rice topped with a raw fish ~ 40-60 Kcals) ๐Ÿฃ

Maki (rice and fillings rolled up in nori or seaweed ~ 50-80 Kcals) ๐Ÿ™

While trying to loose weight, YES you can still enjoy sushi, total of 8 to 10 pieces (and most of them SASHIMI). .

To avoid calorie bombs stay away from these words while ordering: .
- Crunchy (means pieces of fried batter)
- Spicy (usually has mayo)
- Tempura (which is all FRIED) .
