**This post is for the pet parents I’ve nurtured on this platform who are ready to take their dog’s health to the next level.

With everything happening globally, shipping delays are real… but I’ve found a solution for us.

I am talking about:

✨ High-quality, whole food-based supplementation
✨ Third-party tested because not all supplements (yes, even from “natural” pet stores) are verified for purity or potency
✨ Transparent sourcing ; you should know exactly where ingredients come from
✨ Bioavailable forms your dog can actually absorb and use
✨ No fillers, synthetic additives, 🙌

One of my mentors ; a woman I deeply respect in this space, based in the US has always spoken about using human-grade supplements.

And if I’m being honest, I never fully understood what she meant.

Until now.

But before we go there, let’s be clear…

Not everything “human-grade” is automatically safe or appropriate for dogs. And it would be irresponsible for me to throw brand names at you without context.

Because dosage matters.
Sourcing matters
Bioavailability matters.

And most importantly your dog’s individual needs matter.

What this season has shown me is that I have two choices:

Frustration… or curiosity.

And I’m choosing curiosity.

I’ve been deep-diving into brands available right here in Dubai ; the ones that truly meet the standards I care about

‼️Full transparency: some natural pet companies in Dubai might not love this 🤦🏾‍♀️ because they’ve built their marketing on ChatGPT and the idea that you can’t access these products.

Here I am, showing you what you can access, and how to use it well. ‼️

This is your reminder:

There are options. You just need to know how to look.

Cooperative care is often presented as something that has to look perfect.

Perfect positioning.
Perfect stillness.
Perfect compliance.

But the reality for many of us with sensitive or misunderstood dogs is that perfection isn’t the goal.
Safety, trust, and progress are. 🙌

A few years ago, I believed some very persuasive women who insisted that if you don’t use a prong, you aren’t giving your dog proper guidance. 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♀️

Maybe if I were training for military work that would make sense. But I have pets. Companion animals.

Experience taught me otherwise. Mistakes happened. Lessons were learned.

Gucho and I were refused treatment in multiple places in Dubai because professionals were scared of him. That does something to your confidence as a dog guardian.

One of the reasons I even started learning acupuncture myself was because the vet was understandably nervous around him. And I don’t blame her as many veterinarians simply don’t have experience handling reactive local desert mixes, and if someone has been bitten before it changes how they approach things.

Over time, I focused on building trust and cooperative care at home instead.❤️

I was fortunate to find two wonderful vets in Dubai who helped with diagnostics and support us when we need it.

But I’ve also taken a lot of initiative to learn how to do many things for my dogs myself.

At this point, the only thing left might be getting a degree in veterinary science with the direction I seem to be heading. 😅

Today he’s wearing a muzzle, I’m treating his paw… and if you watch the second clip carefully, you’ll notice that he’s almost asleep😂

For a dog who was once misunderstood, this quiet moment means everything. 🥺

I literally had to rush to grab my phone to capture it because it sums up our journey.

If you’re struggling, be patient with yourself.
Give yourself grace.
And don’t let social media or random dog “experts” become your benchmark.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away from the noise and focus on what truly aligns with your values and your dog.

Gucho is my ultimate benchmark and the reason I keep doing what I do 💚

Eating with the seasons is one of the simplest ways to support health.

These fruits and vegetables are full of fiber that supports gut health.

March brings beautiful produce that can nourish the body in the most natural way & the best part is that we get to share all this with our pets!

09/03/2026

Five years ago, if you asked me about anything related to health, I wouldn’t have known what to say.

Today I can talk about organs, herbs, nutrition… and it just comes out naturally. The brain is a beautiful thing!

When you care deeply about something, you keep learning, right? Ask me what I ate over the weekend and I won’t remember but ask me about pet health and I can lecture you 🤦🏾‍♀️

Growth is like that. 🌿

Social media can make the world feel very different from reality.😢

Over the past few days, we’ve seen WhatsApp groups being created to “help pets.” And yes some pets have absolutely been helped through these groups, which is wonderful.

But while thousands of people have joined these conversations within hours… our local shelters have been begging for donations, fosters, and support for years.🥺

I’m also hearing radio presenters speak about people “leaving and coming back.” The reality is that many people leaving aren’t coming back. ❌That’s just the truth on the ground. I wish more voices with large platforms would amplify these realities too.

This isn’t about disrespecting anyone’s efforts. Helping animals is always a good thing.

But we also have to ask bigger questions.

Within an hour, over 2,000 people joined one WhatsApp group to help pets. Imagine the impact if even a fraction of those people supported local shelters consistently.

Because while I’m seeing Labradors and popular breeds being urgently rehomed… I can’t help but think about the hundreds of desert mixes sitting in boarding or shelters who have been waiting months sometimes years for a home.

Every dog deserves a chance.

Not just the breeds.‼️

And no pet deserves to be caught up in what’s happening in the world right now.

But we also shouldn’t turn these moments into opportunities to market ourselves or our pets.

Compassion should be bigger than that.

Another thing that makes me wonder: many of the founders of these WhatsApp groups aren’t even based in Dubai. Which is fine, loving animals has no borders. But why not work with the shelters already here? Why not collaborate with the people who have been doing this work for years?

Maybe I’m missing something.

Because the truth is, there are independent rescuers in this city who don’t have social media platforms, who don’t have big voices, who don’t have thousands of followers but they work day and night, quietly saving animals.

They deserve support too.

this may not be a very popular opinion, but I had to say it

Dropped off some meals today to help a pup start their fresh food journey. 💃💃

Whenever a pet parent shows even a little interest in upgrading their dog’s bowl, you’ll probably find me right there advocating for fresh, real food. 👋👋

Top tips for transitioning your dog to a raw diet:

✨ Start slow – mix a small amount of raw with your dog’s current food (kibble too)
✨ Give the gut time to adapt (around 5–7 days)
✨ Add a good probiotic to support gut health
✨ Start simple ; ideally begin with one protein
✨ Watch the p**p - it tells you how the transition is going
✨ Don’t panic if appetite or stools change slightly in the first few days - I love the balance p**p formula from which is a blend of thoughtful ingredients in case there’s diarrhea

Fresh food doesn’t have to be complicated ; sometimes dogs just need a gentle, supported start.

And on a lighter note… if you noticed I’m roaming around without shoes while doing neighbourhood drop-offs 🙈 no judging please. It’s a very South African thing to be barefoot most of the time.

Dog dads in the neighbourhood don’t get enough credit.

We see you 👏

Watching my page and sending hate messages is a strange hobby. 🤦🏾‍♀️

It’s no secret that I admire and her reminders are oh so powerful ❤️

She shared something simple but important: ask better questions.💃

Questions like:
• Who formulated this food?
• Has the food been validated?
• What food safety standards are actually followed?

And it made me reflect on something.

One of the core things I try to do on this platform is encourage pet parents to ask the right questions.

Many people don’t.
Sometimes they’re afraid.
Sometimes they don’t want to rock the boat.
Sometimes they just don’t want to speak up. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I’ve never been afraid to ask questions especially when it comes to dogs and food safety.

IAfter I nearly lost Raven and she was sick for months, I realized something very clearly:

When your dog falls sick, no one is standing there with you. It’s just you.

You are the one dealing with the vet visits, the fear, the sleepless nights, and the endless questions about what went wrong.

What surprised me the most during that time was realizing that some of the very pet parents I had helped and supported didn’t stand in my corner. Instead, they chose to support the very pet food company I was questioning.

In the UAE, I’m currently only aware of one raw food facility using HPP for safety, which is

But here’s the sad part.

Sometimes when you ask questions, people assume you’re attacking them. 🤮

Last year, I drove to Ras Al Khaimah to volunteer at an event - I greeted someone warmly (you know, South Africans love to hug) someone whose business I had supported from day one and I had no idea they carried resentment and hatred toward me. Later I found out they had blocked me on social media because they believed I was targeting them. 😂

It’s like the universe did a clean up for me 🙌

Asking questions is not an attack.
It’s advocacy.

And when it comes to our dogs, advocacy should never be seen as a threat. But sadly it is!

So if there’s one thing I hope you take from this page, it’s this:

Ask the questions.
Even if they feel uncomfortable.
Even if others don’t.

Because our dogs depend on us to do exactly that.
