This is unbelievable, but it’s true! 👇
I used to believe that underwater treadmill therapy was the best option for dogs with bilateral hip dysplasia—and that swimming might actually make things worse due to the lack of controlled movement.
But after completing my hydrotherapy training with , gaining hands-on experience in Singapore with and most importantly, seeing my own Rex improving after just a single swimming session, my perspective completely changed. 🤯
💦 Hydrotherapy swimming isn’t just “free swimming.” In a therapeutic setting, it’s highly structured—guided and supported by the therapist to ensure the dog moves correctly, safely, and effectively. 🙌🙏
The underwater treadmill is fantastic for building strength, improving conditioning, and retraining gait. However, for dogs with arthritis, those unable to bear weight, or cases like hip dysplasia, swimming in the pool can often be the better option.
