It is named after the digital app 'The Magic Meal' which is an educational tool that teaches children about nutrition and food groups in a fun and interactive way. My name is Yara Radwan; I am a Doctor (MD from Damascus University, Syria) and a clinical nutritionist (MMedSci in Human Nutrition from Sheffield University in the UK and a certificate in Nutrition and Weight Management from the Weight Management Centre in London). I'm also a mother of 2 young children who are my inspiration behind this. My passion for nutrition and healthy eating especially for children has led me to create the concept of "The Magic Meal" which has been produced by creative lab at TwoFour54, the media and entertainment zone authority based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I've had the honour of working with the very talented team of alpha apps and creative lab at TwoFour 54 and I was also very fortunate to have Noura khoori who is a super talented children's author as the co-author of the story 'The Magic Lunch'. Being very influenced as a child by the concept of gaining super powers from eating spinach in the cartoon series "Popeye the sailor man", I used my nutritional background to come up with a slightly similar concept that involves different foods and food groups and can make healthy eating appealing and attractive for children.

'The Magic Meal' includes a story called 'The Magic Lunch' and three games in both English and Arabic. Sami, Rasha and Kareem are the three characters of the story who face different challenges during their adventure and are able to overcome them because of the super powers they have gained from eating their healthy lunches. The games are about the same 3 characters and the child's mission is to help each character gain its superpower! I genuinely believe that teaching children about foods that are good for them in a fun way at a young age can really change the way children and their families eat and live their lives. I will post tips, recipes and ideas that can make healthy eating delicious and fun for the entire family! My vision is to create more stories and more games about different foods and to make healthy eating really fun and appealing for children and adults alike!
