It’s been an honour to support a mama-to-be during this magical and transformative time of her life!

Witnessing her journey into motherhood has been a reminder of the strength, softness, and deep wisdom held within the feminine.

*** While prenatal yoga classes offer wonderful support for many expectant mothers, yoga therapy provides something more tailored and therapeutic***

Here’s how yoga therapy can support pregnancy on a deeper, more individualized level:

- The therapist and the client work in partnership, forming a deep trust over time. There’s space for emotional processing, in a safe and non-judgmental space.

- Yoga therapy begins with a comprehensive intake to understand medical history, trimester-specific needs, emotional state, energy levels, and birth preferences. Practices evolve week by week.

- The focus is on holistic well-being and therapeutic support during this unique time. The sessions are tailored to the woman’s specific needs—physically, emotionally, and even medically (e.g. sciatica, pelvic pain, anxiety, previous trauma, IVF journeys).

- Yoga Therapy for Pregnancy May Include:
• Restorative postures to ease fatigue, insomnia, or emotional overwhelm
• Breath practices to support calm, reduce anxiety, and improve breath capacity
• Somatic practices to connect with the baby, enhance self-trust, and gently release held tension or trauma
• Pelvic floor awareness and preparation to support both birth and postpartum recovery
• Support for complex journeys, including high-risk pregnancies, previous loss, IVF, or chronic conditions
• A therapeutic focus on building leg strength, rather than just “opening the hips” — helping the mother-to-be feel strong, steady, and supported as her body changes and prepares for labor

*** And most importantly, be ready to meet her where she is. Whether she’s feeling uneasy, nauseous, or dealing with acid reflux. Every day is different, and the support must adapt with it.

Things that you will hear in my sessions:

Relaxation isn’t about forcing calm ➡️ Relaxation happens when all the elements are present.

It begins with meeting yourself where you are ➡️ Sometimes that means movements before stillness.

If rest feels uneasy, you’re not alone➡️ Come with no expectations. Start with kindness and explore.

Trust that your body can relearn rest, in its own time.

What about you? Have you been told that you need to slow down and relax but you are not able to?

Yoga therapy stands out to me because of its emphasis on individualized care and the critical thinking behind every approach.

«Just because everyone is doing something doesn’t mean it’s right for you»

I’ve started working with a few new clients dealing with stress, and during our intake sessions, I realized that some of the things they’ve been doing to help themselves are actually making things harder for them.

During this month I am offering a special session, 1 yoga therapy session for stress + a free consultation and assessment (physical and breathing) this require us to meet 3 times in total and sometimes 4 if you wish to have a chat prior booking.

DM to book (a few slots available) 🤍

If you want to understand what chronic stress really does to your body and mind, this is a great book for you!

In his book, Professor Sapolsky explains:
Why people stay stuck in survival mode long after the threat has passed.
How chronic stress affects everything from sleep to digestion to immunity and even emotional and mental health.
Why we need more rest, not more pressure.
Why we need tools to support the nervous system, breathing, mindful movements and stillness.
Healing happens in slowness.

The book is loaded with scientific information and humour! A must read!

When we move in a certain way, pause, soften, and rest with support, the nervous system starts to shift.

It’s not just about “managing” your stress, you also need to release it! and remembering your natural state:
«Regulated, Rooted, & Whole»

🤍If this speaks to you, you are not alone!

I’d love to support you in your journey back to homeostasis.

⚠️DM now to book your private stress release session and get a complimentary consultation, physical & breathing assessment.

* Offer ends April 30th

When it comes to managing some common practices might actually be triggering your symptoms!

1️⃣ While exercise is essential for overall wellness, high-intensity workouts activates the stress response leading to increased acid production and reflux.

If your workout is leaving you feeling more uncomfortable than strong, it’s time to rethink your approach.

2️⃣ Inversions like and can push acid up the esophagus, worsening symptoms.
Similarly, deep compresse the abdomen and can force the stomach acid upward.

3️⃣ Heating practices that generate heat in the body like some breathing techniques, , and are not recommended.

You might feel like there is nothing left to do- after all, if the practices you trusted are now causing discomfort, what options remain?

Actually, there is a lot that you can do to support your health through personalized care and support.

By focusing on calming, supportive movements, you can improve digestion, reduce stress and find relief without triggering reflux.

Stay tuned to the next post to see some of the practices that I use with patients who suffer from acid reflux.
