We are interrupting our outdoor fun posts with an important message from our founder about her week in New York as a Tory Burch Fellow.
I just spent the last 3 days in NYC getting to know the 50 amazing women of my 2024 Tory Burch Fellows Cohort who are changing the world with their businesses. It was an honor to be among them, to learn about their businesses, to celebrate our wins, share our struggles, and to learn from each other.
We also had the most amazing speakers and advisors that shared their expertise, answered all of our questions candidly and from the heart.
I'd like to start off with a special thanks to the Tory Burch Foundation, Tory Burch and Tiffany Dufu.
Some shared learnings that really resonated with me and that I saw in practice:
· There is so much to be learned from women who are using their success to uplift other women.
· When you are confident and assured in who you are and what you do, using that strength to build others up around you is a true sign of leadership.
· We don't need to empower women, we need spaces where women can realize their power and potential.
· Your business should be a reflection of your values and who you are as a founder.
· Building genuine relationships and authenticity matters.
· Successful business don’t happen in one big moment, they happen in a million little moments.
· Company culture is not what you say, but what you do and practice every day.
· You don’t build trust by offering help, you build trust by asking for help.
· Making time for movement is essential to our wellbeing.
· BE FEARLESS!
Tory Burch and the Tory Burch Foundation team - Tiffany Dufu, Heesun Lho, Emily Weinstein, Sahara Lake, Grace King, Molly Heffernan, Alicia (Doukeris) Houston, Allie Weiss, Desiree Browne, CarmenRose Fiallo (she/ella), Jasmine Lawrence - you are all forces of nature that have positively impacted every one of our lives, and businesses, forever.
