Have you heard about the AusAlert coming in July? A siren will sound on every mobile device with a sim connection. ME/CFS Australia have met with NEMA to ensure the concerns of the ME/CFS community have been considered.

Yesterday ME/CFS Australia met with the Stakeholder Engagement team at the National Emergency Management Authority regarding the AusAlert system which is being prepared.

It was a very reassuring and supportive discussion where we shared our concerns and received some important guidance.

The ME/CFS community has now been considered in this process and we will have some very specific ideas about how people with ME/CFS can better manage their devices.

The AusAlert website is aiming to launch at the end of April. We will receive specific community engagement materials a few days prior. Check back here for this information.

Researchers from RMIT University are inviting women living with invisible illnesses to take part in a research study exploring how they navigate their condition with support from family, friends, peers, and healthcare providers.

The study involves completing a short online demographic questionnaire (approx. 10 mins) and participating in a one-on-one interview conducted via Microsoft Teams (approx. 30-60 mins).

The research aims to better understand everyday experiences of care and support among women with conditions including, but not limited to, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia syndrome, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and long COVID.

Participants will receive a $50 Coles gift voucher in recognition of their time.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact Gabriella at Gabriella.apostolou@rmit.edu.au

Hey everyone, this year I have been running a marathon in all eight Australian states and territories for my best friend who has had ME/CFS for over three years. With the eighth and final marathon on Saturday, over $30,000 has already been donated to the two charities I am supporting, which is absolutely amazing and so humbling.

To mark the end of the marathons, any donations this week to my fundraiser for ME/CFS Australia will be entered into a draw to win a year’s supply of non-alcoholic beer (worth $840), kindly donated by Heaps Normal. And you get to support an amazing cause!

Every $20 donated will be one entry, so the more you donate the greater chance you have to win. Make sure to leave some contact details when you donate so I can let you know if you win!

Please follow the link below to donate.
