Lunar New Year, widely considered the most important event of the year in Chinese communities around the planet, is here.

Marking the first new moon of the lunar calendar, it falls on February 17 in 2026.

The Year of the Horse represents success, vitality, strength, good fortune, prosperity, and opportunities. “In Chinese ancient history, horses are crucial in winning battles, which is why they symbolise the key to success and good fortune.”

Celebrations are this coming Saturday in Gouger St, Adelaide.

Have you heard about Adelaide Airport’s free ‘Try Before You Fly’ program? Meg and Bailey tested it out yesterday. It’s a great way to practice flying and learning exactly what to expect, with the plane wheels staying firmly on the ground.

Check out some school holiday activities running next Monday 19th January.

UNO tournament - free! Funded through communities for children.
Targeted for children aged 8-14 however older or younger children are welcome. Parents / carers are required to stay.
