🩵World Autism Awareness Day 💜🌍


❤️ 2 April is World Autism Awareness Day, recognised by the United Nations. This year’s theme, “Every Life Has Value,” reminds us to recognise autistic people as whole human beings—worthy of dignity, rights, and respect.

🧡 While awareness and accommodations such as sensory‑friendly spaces are improving inclusion, autism is still widely misunderstood. Too often, autistic people—especially those with high support needs—are framed as a “cost” or “too complex,” leading to exclusion and denied supports.

💛 Strengths are frequently misunderstood as a lack of need, rather than recognised as potential that must be supported alongside genuine and sometimes complex challenges.
Autistic people deserve supports that recognise both strengths and needs, valuing them as individuals with rich inner lives.

💚 On 2 April, we join the United Nations in calling on everyone to recognise the unconditional value of every life—not for productivity or contribution, but because every person is inherently worthy of a meaningful and dignified quality of life.

As we approach the Easter long weekend we wanted to extend our safe wishes to you all.

The office, Kerry st community centre and NDIS supports of Diverse Learning will be closed during this time. Please reach out to your Diverse learning representative to arrange any alternative supports that may be offered. Your diverse learning staff member may be unavailable for contact during the below dates.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! 🏳️‍⚧️

Today, March 31st, is an annual international celebration of trans pride and awareness, recognising transgender, gender diverse and non-binary experiences and achievements!

It’s a day to share stories and start conversations that acknowledge experiences and celebrate trans pride.

We see you. We support you. We stand proudly with you today, tomorrow, and every day.

Have you heard about this show at this year's Adelaide Fringe Festival - The Magic Pyjama Party?

The Magic Pyjama Party is a low-stim, inclusive magic show designed for children of all ages and their families. The performance is gentle, interactive, and intentionally designed to be welcoming for children who may benefit from a calmer, more sensory-aware environment.

This show is being performed for one day only at The Parks Theatre, Angle Park, on the 28th Feb (this Saturday!) at 11am and 2pm.

The show focuses on:

· ✨ Low-stim magic (no loud sounds or sudden surprises)
· 🧸 A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere
· 🌈 Accessibility and inclusion for all children
· 🎭 Engagement through storytelling, imagination, and gentle audience interaction
