🧠 The way you lift matters just as much as what you lift.

Proper technique isn’t just about looking good it’s about building strength safely, protecting your joints, and getting the most out of every rep.

💪 A clean deadlift means more power, better posture, and fewer injuries down the track.

Train smart, move well, and your body will thank you for it 👊

It’s not true! 👇

Here’s the real story:
✅ When done with good technique, overhead pressing actually builds shoulder strength and stability.
✅ It helps improve mobility and posture by training your shoulder through a full, controlled range of motion.
✅ It reduces injury risk by strengthening the rotator cuff and supporting muscles that keep your shoulder joint stable.
✅ It’s one of the best ways to build resilient, functional shoulders for both sport and everyday movement.

It’s not the lift that causes pain, it’s how you lift, how much
load you use, and how well you prepare your body for it.

💡 Train smart, strengthen gradually, and your shoulders will thank you.

Last night we were so lucky to have Tash from Lighthouse Physio join us to educate us on all things women's & pelvic health 🙌

It was wonderful to have someone so knowledgeable and passionate come and teach us - we discussed many aspects of pelvic and women's health including:

🟣 Working with pregnant athletes and guiding them with training through pregnancy
🟣 Working with post partum women, with a focus on returning to sport and training
🟣 Ways we can help to treat & prevent musculoskeletal issues during and after pregnancy
🟣 Considerations around menopause & perimenopause, pain and exercise
🟣 Recognising when clients may need more specialised care and when to refer them onto services such as Lighthouse

Thanks so much Tash, we can't wait to have you back for another education session next year! ❤️🙏

Wry Neck? Here's What You Need to Know! 👇

If you've ever woken up with your head stuck to one side and pain turning your neck - you might have experienced wry neck.

In this video, we demonstrate PPIVMs - a gentle manual therapy technique used by physiotherapists to assess and mobilize stiff or painful neck joints.

- Great for identifying restricted segments
- Can help restore movement
- Often used in acute cases like wry neck

Always get assessed by a qualified professional before trying any treatment.

🦵 “Running is bad for your knees.”
It’s something we hear all the time but it’s actually a myth!

Here’s the truth 👇
✅ Recreational running has been shown to reduce the risk of knee arthritis.
✅ It strengthens the muscles and tissues that support your knees.
✅ Proper load management, footwear, and form make all the difference.

So no, running doesn’t ruin your knees, it can actually make them stronger!
It’s not the running that causes pain, it’s often how you run, how much, and what you do to support recovery.

If you suffer from knee pain when you run/ walk come in and see us! We can assess if there is a bigger issue at hand and do a running assessment to make sure we are covering all our bases and giving you all the information to continue running - pain free!!

🏃‍♀️ If you’re getting knee pain while running, don’t hang up your shoes just yet — a physio can help assess your form, training load, and muscle balance to get you running pain-free again.
