Today on the International Day of Older Persons, we celebrate the wisdom, resilience, and lifelong contributions of older people in our communities.

At Meals on Wheels SA, we are proud to support thousands of older South Australians every single day. Our volunteers deliver much more than a meal - they bring care, friendship, and the reassurance of a regular check-in, helping people remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

Older people are the foundation of our families and communities. They have built the South Australia we enjoy today, and it is our privilege to give back through a service that values dignity, respect, and connection.

💐 Today we honour their stories, achievements, and ongoing role in our community.

Today is a great day to sit down with a book, whether it is reading to your little one's or getting cozy with a book of your own, the WSWT team are passionate about getting everyone involved in reading!

This years theme focuses on our future generations, so let this serve as a reminder to get our young ones interested in books from a young age. Give us a message if you'd like a copy of My Feet and we can let you know when we'll be out in the community, we have a lot of exciting events coming up!

Walk Strong, Walk Tall isn't primarily a research program, but we have noticed a gap in understanding the experiences of Aboriginal people living in South Australia who have had a leg amputation related to diabetes. So, we want to look into it.

Your story will be used to understand how we can better care for people with foot problems before and after an amputation.
