Flinders University Cardiac and Critical Care Society The Flinders University Critical Care Society (FCCS) has the following aims in 2025:

1.

Flinders University Cardiac and Critical Care Society (FCCS) is a student-run society that is passionate about delivering current and relevant cardiac and critical care education. To provide opportunities for students to learn and practice new skills in the medical fields related to critical care
2. To give students opportunities for additional exposure to knowledge and equipment used specifically for the management of critically unwell patients
3. To increase awareness of emergency medical situations among the cohort beyond those covered in the curriculum
4. To provide opportunities for students to engage with healthcare professionals in the medical fields of critical care
5. To create opportunities for students to engage with critical medical care as potential career options

Recap on MedSTAR day 2025 🚁 We had a presentation about MedSTAR followed by some case studies. Then we took a tour of the base and finished off with two interactive stations. Introducing the Flinders University Cardiac and Critical Care Society 🫀🩺
After receiving lots of interest in our cardiac-focused events, we’ve officially expanded our scope to include cardiology alongside critical care.
Our goal is to better serve our members and the wider cohort by providing a broader range of educational and practical opportunities.
We’ll still be running all your favourite critical care events, but now with even more heart ❤️ (literally).

SAAS MedSTAR provides care to critically ill or injured patients in South Australia and retrieval from various parts of the state to the most appropriate medical facility.
