Working with bringing the weight forward. In Adho Mukha Vrskasana to see how to move the elbows back to wall but bring shoulders and buttocks forward and in Pincha Mayurasana to bring the weight into the middle of the forearm to stop the hands sliding in. In my practice I’m learning that yoga is the constant study of myself—seeing what needs to adjust, what needs to enliven, and what needs to soften—so the pose can reveal its depth from the inside. Keep practicing!! 🤸🙏🏻🥰💜🕉️

Deepening your practice part 5 - Inversions.

🪷Thank you all for your dedication to learning and improving your practice. Today we worked with many shoulder openers to deepen:
* Adho Mukha Vrskasana.
* Pincha Mayurasana.
* Salamba Sirsasana.
* Salamba Sarvangasana.
I hope you walked away with a few more tools to deepen your Inversions.
🤸
🤸
A key idea from B.K.S. Iyengar regarding inversions is that they offer a fresh perspective on life, teaching you to face your fears and approach challenges with new eyes. He emphasized the rejuvenating power of inversions to bring energy to the body and clarity to the mind, promoting a balanced and healthy physical and mental state by reversing the effects of gravity. Go upside today and see the effects yourself! 🤸🕉️🤸

✨ Why Yoga, not just exercise? ✨
B.K.S. Iyengar explained that while exercise conditions the body, yoga transforms the whole being. In yoga, strength is balanced with flexibility, effort with awareness, and action with stillness. It is not only about what the body can do, but how the mind and breath are integrated into each movement.
Yoga goes beyond fitness — it cultivates steadiness, clarity and inner peace that extend far beyond the mat.
🧘‍♀️ Join us this Public Holiday, Monday 6th October, to experience the depth of yoga practice.

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” – B.K.S. Iyengar.

Adho Mukha Svanasana - using the ropes to create space and support. A beautiful way to elongate the spine. Restorative and Pranayama week

“In an asana, the mind has to reach inside the body to find a quiet space until a point comes where perfect balance is felt.”

-Geeta Iyengar - Gem for women.

Rope support reduces fear and helps the student to remain longer in the pose, gaining the quietening and restorative effects. This week we have used the support of ropes in many of our restorative poses. 🕉️🙏🏻💜.

Part 4 of our ‘Deepening your yoga practice’ today is Ropes or Yoga Kurunta - the word Kuranti means puppet or doll made of wood. In using the wall ropes in the practice of yoga asanas we become like puppets suspended by ropes. Today we explored many asanas using the support of Ropes. We had a wonderful start to our Sunday 🕉️🙏🏻💜
