Recently, in Episode 001: Where Healing Begins, Jo and I talked about why anxiety feels so prevalent for so many people right now — and why the emotional field is more activated than usual.
Anxiety begins with change.
And at this moment in time, many people are moving through profound internal and external shifts. Alongside this personal evolution, we’re also in a collective season often described as a time of shedding, completion, and release — the themes of the Snake Year and the closing of a 9-year cycle.
Not everyone will experience this in the same way, but a common thread is emerging: the past is resurfacing. Old feelings, old stories, old emotional patterns are rising — not to destabilise you, but to be witnessed, integrated, and released.
When we add the rapid changes in how we live, work, communicate, relate, parent, and even understand ourselves, it’s no wonder the mind feels unsettled unless we are grounded in awareness and practice.
Humanity is standing in an in-between phase, and the nervous system is trying to keep up.
Layer onto this the loss of grounding — less community, less stillness, more screens, more stimulation, the rapid rise of AI — and for those not anchored in daily practice, an old belief begins to surface again:
“I’m not enough.”
“I don’t have enough.”
“I can’t do this.”
This belief lives inside the subconscious filing system. So when something new arises, the mind pulls forward an old memory:
“Remember what happened last time?”
This isn’t perception, illusion, or weakness — it’s an unhealed emotional moment rising to be met, especially during cycles of endings:
“Here I am. Can you release me now?”
You’re not going backwards. Your system is clearing space before the new cycle begins.
