Argh, Why is my FB page saying I'm feeling amused??? I'm not feeling amused!!! I'm feeling that sense of despair when you try and fix something on FB, only to waste half an hour going around in circles, without any idea what you are doing. Anyway, deep breath.

Where are the weeks going? I keep losing track of the days... But here we are again, looking at the next tarot deck in my rather vast collection. This week, I have chosen the Arcanum Tarot deck. It's very pretty and I use it for romantic readings, or for clients who are, well let's just say it, very elegant. Needless to say, I don't use it on myself!

First up, I have chosen the 7 of Swords and the 10 of Swords. The 7 of Swords is known as the thief card of the tarot and can often signal that someone has taken something from you, and that the perpetrator has gotten away with it. For example, if someone's partner has cheated on them, then walked away without any remorse. The 10 of Swords is the card of utter ruin and defeat. It's also the end of a long and difficult time, where the person can feel that there is no hope around their situation. When you see these cards appear in a reading, you are dealing with something very difficult for your client. And many times they will show up together.

The second group of cards is The Magician and the Strength card. I really love both of these depictions in the Arcanum deck. The Magician is a card symbolising someone's ability to create and manifest in their life, using all the tools at hand. And the Strength card is all about taming our nature, and not giving into our more basic selves.

As you can see, it's quite a powerful deck with a lot of energy.

Well, that's it for this week's card deck. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and are able to stay calm in these very strange (and rather scary) times.

Hmmm, February has vanished and I can't say where it went to!! I thought I would continue today with our look at the Rider Waite deck and corresponding cards in another deck. I chose the Rackham Tarot. Arthur Rackham was a British book illustrator in the early 1900s. His work is a lot of fine pen illustration with water colour washes. The deck is whimsical, very etherial, and I absolutely love it. However, you do have to know your standard Rider Waite deck inside out to be able to use this deck, as some of the cards have very little resemblance to the Rider Waite deck. (And please excuse the tatty Rider Waite box. It's been on many adventures with me over the years).

The first two cards I chose to compare are the 3 of Wands and the 6 of cups. The 3 of Wands is often a card of waiting with positive expectations for things to come. It is often described as the card of 'waiting for your ships to come in'. The 6 of Cups is a card of nostalgia, of looking back with fondness at times past. I absolutely love both of the illustrations used in the Rackham deck for these cards.

Then there is the 9 of Swords and the 5 of Pentacles. The 9 of Swords is the card of worry, insomnia and having too many troubles, while the 5 of Pentacles is described as the 'outcast' card.

So, there is deck number 2 out of 20!!

I have some appointments available this coming Friday at the beautiful Collective Soul Centre, so if you feel drawn to have a tarot reading with me, please feel free to contact me on 0435 116 176. I also offer Zoom readings, if you are not living in Adelaide.

Have a lovely weekend and I will be back soon with a new deck to looks at xx

Where has February gone???! I feel like I blinked and it zoomed on by. So here is a card for the last week of a month that saw a solar eclipse, the start of the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse, Saturn and Neptune forming an exact conjunction (yikes!) and the start of Lent in the Christian calendar. Whew. With all that energy flying around, it's lovely to see such a sweet, powerfully positive card for the week. Joy is often found in the small things, like the Hummingbird enjoying the nectar of a flower. Take time this week to look around you, and drink in the joy of the world around YOU! Have a wonderful week xx

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to be a tarot reader at the beautiful Carpe Diem with Remi shop in Port Adelaide. The only downside was, while I used to wait for clients, I had time to look at all their tarot decks. The result was that I ended up buying around 20 decks!! So I thought I would start a weekly look at my different decks, by selecting 4 cards from the Ryder Waite deck, and showing you what the corresponding cards look like in the other deck. I will do two of the more challenging cards, and two of the cards that are less challenging (shall we say!)

So today I’m going to look at the beautiful Light Seers tarot deck. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

First up, with have the Death card, and the 8 of cups. The Death card symbolises the need to move on from something that has finished in your life. Often if we don’t, then the situation will become more intense or stale, making our lives more difficult than they have to be. I love how the Light Seers tarot also mentions rebirth. Rebirth in life can only come after with have let go of what needs to ‘die’, so that we can move on into the new.

Then we have the 8 of cups. This card is all about walking away from sorrow. It’s time to leave it in the past and head towards new horizons. Cups are the emotional cards of the tarot, so often walking away is painful, but necessary.

Next, we have the Star and the 4 of wands. The Star symbolises healing, hope, and reconnection to our divine selves. While the 4 of wands is traditionally the marriage card, and the card of celebration and happiness.

I hope this has been interesting!! I’ll be back next week with my next deck.

It's finally February!! We had many hot days in Adelaide, in January, that it felt like it went on forever. But February feels more action-orientated, and this is the card I have for the first week of this new month. It is a card that signifies joyous movement forward, so if you've been feeling a bit stuck, take heart. The energy is now ready for us to move forward with courage, and start a fresh journey!! This card is from the Oracle deck by Denise Linn called Soul Coaching. It's one of my favourite decks at the moment.
