Are you protected against whooping cough?

Under vaccinated adults are the main reservoir for whooping cough in the community.

Who should have the vaccine:
🩺 Adults: a booster (dTpa) is recommended for everyone every 10 years if not up to date, especially:
🩺 Healthcare workers
🩺 Early childhood educators and carers
🩺 People who will be in close contact with infants (e.g. family members)

If you haven’t received the whooping cough vaccine in the last 10 years, please ask us about this at your next appointment.

This vaccine protects you and our vulnerable community, especially newborns, and costs around $40-$45 for up to 10 years of protection.

Saturday was World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day where we join together in advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.

Studies have found that people with intellectual disabilities are more likely to be lonely than people without disabilities. Loneliness is a serious problem. It is not just a sad feeling. It is bad for our health and happiness. To stop loneliness, every person needs:

👥 To be truly included in schools, jobs, and community life. Not just "being there, " but taking part.
🥰 To feel welcome and valued, to be invited to join in, and to be safe from stigma.
💪 To have strong, supportive, and meaningful relationships with friends, family, and partners.
