💬 What I have come to know in this short time on earth is that sometimes it’s more important to just be — to be present — to be here and now — not to record—nothing to show for fame or fortune — just to be here present—here with you.
And maybe this is what I can conjure of the idea of contentment.

Thank you Sparrow Early Learning West Leederville so much for having me at your beautiful centre🙏🏼 🐥✨ The children’s joy, imagination, and care for their little Totem Chicks explorations 🐣 was truly heart-warming. It was so wonderful to witness their creativity and share in the storytelling come to life, in the Guardians of the Coop workshop through play, imagination, and creative exploration. A big thank you also to Nick at Hatching WA 🐣 🐥 🐤 for the adorable feathered 🪽 🪺 companions who made the experience even more special. Heartfelt thanks to the Sparrow staff, whose warm presence and collaboration supported each child’s individual exploration into the beautiful world of art therapy. And deep gratitude to the children, parents, and families for their openness, creativity, and trust in sharing this journey. I look forward to continuing this creative journey with Sparrow and your nurturing community 🙏🏼 🥰 🪽 🎨

In this whimsical yet reverent pastel sketch,
Pawduceus 🐾 [Caduceus] 🐍 🩺 🧠 ✨ reimagines the ancient healing staff as a symbol honouring our most devoted co-regulators: animals. Created especially for the 9x5 exhibition, this piece is a visual ode to the emotional, psychological, and physical support offered by working animals from psychiatric service dogs to autism assistance cats, therapy companions to guide animals, and meet we forget our loving house hold pets.
🐕‍🦺🦮🐾🐈🐎🦉🐇🦗🐡🐁🦎
Please note: I couldn’t fit the entire animal kingdom in emoji form…so this line humbly represents the vast array of species who walk beside us in seen and unseen ways. 🥰

Blending anatomical reference with heartfelt symbolism, the artwork offers a playful but potent reminder of the spiralling journey we take through healing and connection. Inspired by the Caduceus traditionally carried by Hermes and mistakenly adopted as a medical emblem with its twin serpents; and are here I have replaced it by pawprints of presence, entwined protectively around a staff of soul-navigation.

As we face the wilderness of being human, sometimes unprepared and often uninvited, our animal allies stand beside us unwaveringly grounding, guiding, and loving unconditionally. Pawduceus is a reminder of this sacred companionship, and the ways these beings walk with us through grief, joy, regulation, and rewilding.

And a shout to my amazing sister for making finish this sketch ✍️ what a legend !

Wow just wow 🤩 We’ve now reached $500 raised and together, we’ve made something truly meaningful possible.

Thanks to your generosity, we’re now in reach of bringing a pottery wheel into the studio, not just as a tool, but as a deeply therapeutic resource for the incredible clients we are privileged to journey alongside.
We’ll be placing the order as soon as the funds are released; and it’s because of you that this is now possible.

In therapeutic arts-based practice, it’s not about creating a perfect final piece, it’s about the process.
The gestures, textures, and rhythms of making invite us to reconnect with our inner world, often revealing insights that words alone cannot carry. As Cathy Malchiodi (2020) reminds us, healing begins “in the making itself, where sensation, emotion, and meaning intersect long before a finished product exists.”

With the addition of this offering, our clients will have access to:

🌀 Presence & Regulation – The wheel’s gentle repetition supports breath awareness and nervous system balance (Lusebrink, 2004)
🤲 Embodied Insight – Working with clay fosters somatic awareness and non-verbal expression, giving form to unspoken stories (Elbrecht, 2013)
🌿 Creative Agency – Each shaping gesture becomes an act of self-determination and possibility, a way to explore, reclaim, and become

Clay invites stillness. It reminds us that transformation is tactile, that through process and presence, we come home to ourselves.

To everyone who donated, shared, or simply believed in the vision, thank you. You’ve helped open the door for meaningful, creative, and healing encounters that will ripple far beyond the studio walls.

With collective gratitude 🌱 🙏🏼 🌻 🪄 ✨

We’ve reached $230! Thank you, beautiful creative souls 💛🌀

To everyone who has generously donated so far — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness is already rippling outward into something magical.

Each contribution helps us bring a pottery wheel into the heart of rel artizan studio, a space where clay becomes more than just earth. Here, it becomes a grounding practice, a therapeutic process, a place where hands remember, hearts soften, and stories take shape in spirals and curves.

This wheel isn’t just about making pots. It’s about creating a safe, sensory-rich space where people of all ages, neurodivergent, healing, and the curious, can connect with self and with others. Pottery is rhythm, breath, presence. It strengthens fine motor skills, calms the nervous system, and offers a powerful metaphor for resilience: soft beginnings shaped by steady hands.

With your support, we are shaping more than clay; we are shaping connection, confidence, and community.

Thank you for helping us gift this offering to the people who call rel artizan studio home. We see you, we honour you, and we’re so grateful you’re part of this journey.

With gratitude a grateful heart and muddy hands,
Robyn & the rel artizan studio crew

who is rel artizan?

Hey there, I’m Robyn from rel artizan. I’m a contemporary artist and art therapist working at Heathcote Gallery and Museum and also VisAbility (formerly known as The Association for The Blind of Western Australia). I work both as an artist and as an art therapist out of my beautiful and serene studio. Together with my art therapy clients we set individualised goals together and use art making to improve and enhance their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. My method’s are Jungian based and allows people to tap into their subconscious by way of creative mediums. This allows them to communicate precious parts of their heart and teaches them techniques to step past setbacks or roadblocks. Thus, allowing my clients to live the lives that they aspire to. My journey is not only about myself becoming self-realised, but also helping and aiding others to become fully self-realised individuals. I have a major passion for painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media and pretty much anything arty farty. So I love to run individual and group art/therapy work shops around the Perth region 📷

So without further a do, when there are no more words, let the art do the talking.

To your success!

Blessings from
