We thought it was about time to refresh our profile photo. So, it became a shorter-thought-than-done process.

Nobody is more appropriate to represent our women’s wellness philosophy than Aviva , a face that embodies our educative and inspirational endeavours.

Aviva’s presence is the kind of story that mirrors Stronger Sister’s audience:

Empowered women unleashing (or wanting to unleash) their strength within, based on strong values, kindness, and resilience.

You might not be a health professional and mother of two like Aviva, but you may still find her inspiring as you strengthen your own journey.

It is possible to build body confidence and sustainable physical strength.

The older we get, the more we need to maintain — or discover — our mobility, grip, balance, and STRENGTH. At any stage of life, that’s the greatest currency women can develop.

Maybe the best time to get started was 5 or 10 years ago. The second-best time is now.

I’ve been lucky enough to witness her fitness journey since 2008, but the best part is: she doesn’t need my presence to stay aware of her health and wellness priorities.

Whether you use a barbell, dumbbells or kettlebells, consider using a heels raiser (if not lifting shoes) when doing your front squats.

Even if you have great ankle mobility, elevating your heels is crucial for front squats and particularly important for guys and girls "featuring" long femurs.

Failing to do so, might create lumbar issues as in the rush to squat deeper, the femur has to travel horizontally. which change the centre of mass from the hips to the lower back.

The heels raiser allows to maintain an upright posture during the movement and consistent moment arm (leverage) between the glutes area (tulcrum) and the load (kettlebells). As a result, the lumbar spine doesn't bend (remains stable) the core keeps bracing and the quads firing

Move on, Sir David Attenborough,
This excursion is one of many.
It happened this morning.

This mum explores, coaches, cares for, nourishes and loves her cubs daily. She is also an in-house psychologist, fashion adviser, teacher, laundry master, driver, chef, nurse, playmaker, disc jockey, and choreographer, to list only a bunch of her many hats. Should I say “shoes" instead of “hats”? That's a discussion for another time.

In the name of our precious angels, Happy Mother's Day to you and all the mums out there.

You daily hard work is not unnoticed and today feels natural to thank you for everything you do.

That is France's Stephanie Frappart (on the right), just a few minutes from from becoming the first woman to referee a match at the men's World Cup after being selected to take charge of Thursday's clash between Germany and Costa Rica.

Beyond being a firs whistle,
it should become a normal thing.
Women involved in all aspects of life.
More than equality, it’s a matter of having
the right to choose who you want to become. Powerful.

ROPE PULLDOWN
We are not claiming this is the best exercise for the lats ( the largest muscle group of your back), but it is a resourceful option designed by .

It has been part of our repertoire for over twelve years (inspired by a pricey rope-pulling machine featured in a fitness expo).

To obtain optimal lats activation (and zero joint discomfort), ensure you retract (or get shoulder blades closer together) before doing the pull, just as Aviva does.
