So come see me for 20 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes every appointment. Time to discuss anything & everything… concerns you may have, tests or investigations your not sure about, pain relief options in labour, how your partner can best support you in labour and after baby arrives & so much more!!!!

Wait, let’s look at the math... it’s actually wild. 🤯

An average OB gives you 87 minutes of total care for your whole pregnancy. A home birth midwife gives you over 12 hours. That is 12x more time to connect, ask questions, and actually feel seen. 🕒✨

When we wonder why hospital C-section rates are so high (25% vs. 5% at home), we have to look at the foundation. You aren’t a medical task to be "managed" in 6 minutes—you’re a human growing a human!

Where and with whom you birth changes everything. Don't settle for the conveyor belt. 🌿

Quick question: Did your last prenatal visit feel like a real conversation or a race against the clock? Let’s hear it! 👇

A free birth is when a woman chooses to have a baby, usually at home, without a registered midwife or doctor in attendance. It’s much riskier than a planned home birth.

Have a tick to the Rebellious Midwives Conference in Sydney August 15th-17th if anyone wants to take it off my hands. Best conference for midwives, doulas or anyone working in the birth space!!!!

As I approach the 3rd trimester of my own journey I reflect on how my midwifery business will look with a new addition added to the mix. I would really love your thoughts & ideas of what you feel would be beneficial for you in your pregnancy/birth journey. I’m thinking more antenatal education/clinic, antenatal mothers groups etc. Let me know your ideas and while on maternity leave I will grow not only a 👶🏼 but this business as well. Much love Katie xox

Had a busy end to the year so have a few posts to catch up on!!!!
This beautiful family had a typical first labour in hospital, long labour, augmented and ended up with fetal distress & Em cesarean. This time around was more educated and informed enlisting me for a HBAC. A beautiful waterbirth at home was the result and everyone was proud as punch 🥰

Always a bittersweet moment, saying goodbye at the 6 week visit. Throughout the pregnancy, birth & postpartum, navigating all the curves along the way building a beautiful friendship & trusting relationship. This family hired me for the second time for their 3rd baby and typically as 3rd baby’s are was a wildcard! Wondering when this cherub was going to grace us with her presences & being induced at 42 weeks, weighing a healthy 5.2kg, Eve challenged her mum in every way & Mum handled it beautifully. Welcome to the world Eve 🥰

Today, one of the biggest (and fastest) wins we could have possibly imagined has happened for homebirth families and midwives.

This major milestone simply wouldn’t have been possible without the fierce dedication and advocacy of mothers, midwives, and supporters of homebirth! 💪❤️ 6,000 women filled out surveys, more than 1200 sent emails to their local member of parliament and many of you met with your MPs.

Less than five months ago we came together to stop the Government from putting restrictions on where women choose to birth by excluding women. Unfolding before our eyes we saw a pathway where only ‘low-risk’ women would be able to birth at home with an endorsed midwife.
Today, the government has announced a completely new approach to how midwives will be insured when they support a woman during birth.

They have abandoned the "low-risk" definitions to a framework that truly respects midwives' clinical judgment. Now, intrapartum homebirth services will be covered as long as they comply with the NMBA’s Safety and Quality Guidelines (SQG) – a huge win for safe, accessible, and empowered birthing options! 🌈🏠

Whilst we pinch ourselves, we know the work is not finished and that as always, we still need to be watchful to protect women’s birth choices.

This huge win reflects the power of our collective voices, highlighting how people power can shift the course of policy and make real change for families and providers. 🗣️💬 We spoke and the Government listened - this is truly woman-centered care in action.
Thank you to all who raised their voices – the future of homebirth just got a whole lot brighter! ✨
