Dragons Abreast Ballarat gives a welcoming & inclusive opportunity for you to join the exciting sport of Dragon Boating on Lake Wendouree
Saturday mornings all year round & Tuesday evenings during summer. We are members of Dragons Abreast Australia - breast cancer survivors and supporters, of various ages from a diverse range of backgrounds, sporting abilities and interests. If you want to:
Get fit
Make new friends
Have fun and get in touch with your competitive side
Then Dragon Boating is the sport for YOU!!! We invite all breast cancer survivors and supporters to come and experience the magic that is part of our unique team - both on and off the water. Members include males and females over the age of 18 and we welcome non paddlers as well. We offer the option of competing in regattas when paddlers are ready for a challenge. Members have paddled in all States and territories and also internationally.

It's a time dedicated to:
🎀 Raising awareness about breast cancer
🧠 Educating people on early detection, symptoms, and risk factors
💞 Supporting those affected — patients, survivors, families, and caregivers

It’s October- Breast Cancer Awareness month

We are Dragons Abreast Australia – a national not for profit organisation- a community of breast cancer survivors and supporters who’ve been paddling dragon boats together for health for going on 27 years.

Born out of Canadian Sports Physiologist Dr. Don McKenzie’s groundbreaking study with proving the health benefits of dragon boating after breast cancer, our movement has grown to 29 member groups (and counting!) across the country.

💪 What we do: We paddle dragon boats.
💗 Why we do it: For health, connection, and hope.
🌊 Together, we show that life after breast cancer can be strong, joyful, and full of community.
🐲Our motto is Connect. Move.Live.

✨ This month we’ll be sharing information, stories, and hope to raise awareness and inspire others who are facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
💞 Follow us, like, and share our content to help spread the message of the importance of exercise in maintaining wellness after a Breast Cancer Diagnosis. Help us to become the biggest exercise movement in Australia for those living with Breast Cancer!
