Tikaani and Nova enjoying all the snow ❄️

When I do my tours of the ranch, a question I get sometimes is “how can you tell them apart!?” Both Tikaani and Nova are your typical Gray Wolf and obviously look pretty similar to one another. They have the same tawny, gray color with black accent fur. To someone who doesn’t work with them everyday I could understand how it would be difficult to tell them apart, but to us they look completely different (mainly their facial structure)! Tikaani has a long, slender nose while Nova has a smaller, fatter muzzle. Nova is also shorter and thicker while Tikaani is very tall and has a slim body. Can you tell who is who in these photos!?

What. A. Storm. ❄️💨🐺 This was from early this morning on our initial pack check and ranch integrity. All was great with the wolves. The snow and wind and rain intense.😝 Everyone is tucked in and warm for the night. Let’s see what tomorrow has to hold.

For anyone interested in seeing how Balto is doing following his vet visit:

1) It took a day, but he has officially forgiven those of us that poked, prodded, and otherwise harassed him before and after his trip to the vet

2) He never had appeared to be physically impacted by the injury, despite it being pretty gnarly (no limping, not licking at it, etc,), and this has continued, which were super grateful for!

3) Because he had run into a blunt object, the injury did require a minor surgery to repair the trauma to his muscle, so you can see here the extent of it, as well as how it’s looking after being stitched up!
