As International Women’s Day approaches, I’ve been musing about all the women in my life.

I am lucky to work alongside such an incredible group of women. At O’Skin, my vision is to lead a team that feels supported to grow not only as professionals, but as people. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by such a fabulous group. Thank you to my doctor colleagues and our wonderful staff for bringing so much warmth, kindness, and joy into our workplace every day.

I’m inspired by the women I am friends with, as well as those I meet through my work every day. I am incredibly lucky to have a group of friends who are supportive, thoughtful, and always cheering each other on. Strong leaders in their fields. Women striving and thriving in their careers while balancing the many demands of life. I meet women who have faced enormous challenges, yet continue to show extraordinary resilience and strength.

My own family is full of remarkable women — thoughtful, capable, and quietly making a difference in their field. I often think about my grandmothers, who were highly intelligent but, because of their generation, didn’t have the opportunity to pursue careers. I wish I could sit down with them now and tell them about the lives and opportunities we’ve been able to have.

I am grateful that we live in a country where women can be educated, can work, and can aspire to reach their full potential.

But International Women’s Day is exactly that - international. While we celebrate how far women have come, we also remember that many women and girls around the world still don’t have these opportunities. This is a time to celebrate women everywhere, but also a reminder that there is still work to do.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, kindness, and resilience of women everywhere. I am proud to work alongside my exceptional team, to care for all women who walk through our doors, and to be part of a beautiful family.

Let’s be humble and grateful — for all the good things, but also mindful of the awfulness in the big wide world around us.

This evening, our clinical team undertook further education in a new bioregenerative treatment that has recently become available in Australia.

At O’Skin, our philosophy has always centred on skin health and feeling confident in the skin you’re in. In recent years, research and development within aesthetic medicine has increasingly focused on approaches that aim to improve skin quality and resilience. It is an area that aligns closely with our long-standing clinical approach.

Bioregeneration can standalone series or be used in conjunction with other modalities such as laser, following a comprehensive medical consultation and suitability assessment.

This video shows the PicoWay laser delivering ultra-short picosecond pulses to the tattooed skin. These pulses create a photoacoustic effect that shatters tattoo ink into very small particles, which are then gradually cleared by the body’s lymphatic system.

Dr Amy recently flew to Sydney for a great evening of education with Xytide, learning about exciting new research, which focuses on improving skin quality.

My passion has always been healthy, natural-looking skin outcomes, particularly as we age. It’s never been about changing faces, but supporting our skin to do its own work through collagen stimulation, barrier repair, hydration and overall skin health.
