Arborvitae ♡

I have been using this essential oil all week and I fell back in love. It creates a sense of grounding [ tree oils do this but this one is next level ] The scent reminds me of a spa / sauna day. It is woody, clean ,earthy and forest-like. I have used two drops each day, all day with the yoga blend Align and it has been calming. Peaceful.

This essential oil is known emotionally for supporting feelings of uncertainty, instability, fear, sadness, loneliness and agitation. It promotes feelings of surrendering, grounded, allowing, relaxed, composed. I can really feel the effects in my space + being this past week.

Arborvitae invites us to live in harmony with life by trusting in Divine grace. “Let go, let God” is the refrain of this essential oil. Like the tree, this essential oil is strong. It shares that strength with us by teaching us to rely on God’s strength. “It asks individuals to relax, take a deep breath, and trust in the flow of life” [ from Emotions and Essential Oils ]

Properties are antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. You could combine with eucalyptus for coughs. Frankincense for cellular / immune support.

This oil is so good at repelling insects that the tree itself will take over 100 years before it even begins to decompose!
Four drops of lemon + four drops of Arborvitae for furniture care and preservation.

You can add a few drops of Arborvitae to a spray bottle with water and spray on surfaces or your exposed skin to protect against environmental threats. Or even just apply directly to wrists and ankles while hiking. Dilute first to check sensitivity.
Arborvitae is steam distilled, a tree highly revered and used by Native Canadians for canoes, baskets, and so much more. To create a closed loop process, the oil is distilled from the sawdust from production of the tree, which is then used to make paper products, so no part of the tree goes to waste.

Note - Arborvitae is closely watched by Greenpeace and replanted in abundance to ensure its sustainability.
