For selected court, field and running based athletes we integrate barefoot training to enhance their:

Enhanced proprioception: Direct ground contact increases sensory input from the plantar surface, improving spatial awareness and rapid postural adjustments.

Greater intrinsic foot + lower-limb activation: Reduced external support requires higher force output from stabilising muscles, improving mechanical efficiency.

Neuromuscular efficiency: Increased sensory feedback enhances motor-unit recruitment, coordination, and reaction time.

The Broadford Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce a brand-new high-performance partnership with Patrick Blood of PB Performance Health, who has joined our Netball Department to deliver dedicated Strength & Conditioning coaching throughout the 2025/26 pre-season.

This partnership is all about setting our athletes up for success as we prepare to take on the Bendigo FNL in Season 2026.

Patrick brings exceptional knowledge in athlete development, functional strength, mobility, speed and conditioning, and is passionate about helping players build resilience, reduce injury risk and perform at their peak. His expertise, including active roles with VNL club Bendigo Strikers, will play a massive role in lifting standards and ensuring our group is physically ready to compete in one of the strongest netball leagues in the state.

This collaboration reflects exactly what we stand for: purposeful partnerships, athlete wellbeing, and a commitment to giving our players every opportunity to thrive from U17s to seniors! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Increased volume or intensity elevates metabolic demand, meaning you require higher energy and carbohydrate availability to maintain glycogen stores, support performance, and optimise recovery.

Carbohydrates are the key macronutrient to adjust, as they are the bodyโ€™s primary fuel source for moderate to high-intensity exercise and directly influence energy availability. Small, targeted changes to your intake can meaningfully improve training outcomes.

At PB, we take a holistic, evidence-based approach, tailoring programs to the individual and collaborating with other qualified professionals when needed to support all aspects of health and performance.

These exercises may not look like the โ€œcoolestโ€, but they build the solid foundation young athletes need to grow safely and sustainably.

At our facility, every junior athlete receives the proper guidance, support, and coaching, not shortcuts or rushed results. All athletes aged 16 and under train exclusively under the supervision of our qualified strength and conditioning coaches, who are there to teach, guide, and protect them.
