July School Holidays Camp
📍 Darlington Point NSW

Teamed up with our friends at Swan Hill Discoveries once again to take an awesome crew away on an outback adventure. We love getting the discoveries branches together and seeing friendships develop each trip. It’s amazing to be able to provide a safe, fun and engaging environment where we can explore new places, new activities and with new friends. Building on our independence, social skills and providing respite!

We were lucky enough to have the local put on a disco for the group to dance the night away 🪩🕺💃🏻

This is John who I’m sure most of you would have seen around before- He has been with us for years- one of the OG’s if you will. 👋

John gets around with his sticks ( crutches) or his jazzy gofer normally - however we’re big on an active support model and a big part of that is helping our crew never miss out on the good stuff.

With the help of two of our staff we had John not only out on the court joining in on the fun but in a BUBBLE for bubble soccer.

It isn’t about what we can’t do, it isn’t about missing out when our friends are all having fun. That isn’t what our company is out.

We celebrate our abilities and we maximise on what we can do - And with a bit of help John had a fantastic time.

Discoveries is more than a support company- We are a family and that carries through with our branches. We promote friendships, consistency of staff, key workers and a fun, active support model where you feel welcome and celebrated.

We had some of the SH crew visit as they do every fortnight to catch up and this week we had a blast atBendigo Majorleaguee together!!

If you’re looking for someone who’s fun, relatable, and full of personality — Jemma’s your girl!

Jemma is our real-life big sister energy — bubbly, smart, and absolutely full of life. She connects instantly with our younger participants and brings a cool, calm, and compassionate vibe to everything she does. Whether she’s leading an activity, lending a listening ear, or cheering someone on to reach their goals, Jemma does it all with heart and enthusiasm.

She’s incredibly switched on, mature beyond her years, and has a natural gift for working in this space. From day one, she’s slotted into the Bendigo Discoveries crew like she was made for it — because honestly, she was!

Currently studying a degree in Community Services, Jemma is passionate about social work, mental health, and overall wellbeing. She’s driven to make a difference and has a deep, genuine care for the people she supports.

💪 Fun facts? Jemma loves hitting the gym and is a bit of a gamer on the side — we love that balance!

Fri-YAY 🤩⭐️

We’re big believers of support being fun, getting out and about with your mates and enjoying what the community has to offer. Which is why we have a dedicated day to having FUN!

Fridays are our Out & About day, and while we try to do lots of different things, across lots of different towns our crew always beg to go back to The Zone!
It’s a fan favourite and we can’t argue with that.

We love capacity building, with dedicated programs and support focusing on work skills, life skills, cooking, active lifestyle and so much more but it sure is nice to end the week on a high every single week. 🤩

Calling all animal lovers who would love to join in on the fun these school holidays.

We have been busy planning our next 18 and under camp for the upcoming July school holidays.
We are heading off to NSW to soak in all that the beautiful outback has to offer/ Including the Darlington Point Zoo!!

We run four camps per year and join in with our Swan Hill branch to ensure we are helping our participants build friendships with their peers in a positive, support and FUN environment.
Did I mention the Zoo?! 🦁

Casual Support Worker 🫶🏻

We’re on the look out for a casual all rounded to join the crew to help keep up with growth.

If you have a can do attitude, a natural drive to help support others and enjoy a fun, active and dynamic environment this might be the job for you.

Experience is essential, though we do offer in house training and shadow shifts for each of our participants so both participant and supports feel comfortable and confident going into their first shift.

We work both independently and across group programs, we are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate to continue the capacity building focus of our programs.

💡Must be available Wednesday afternoons (3pm-7pm) for our teens social group.

💡10-15 hours, potential to increase to 25-30 come June 2025.
