FRIENDS OF BERRI TONIGHT

Come along to Friends of Berri, a community group built and led by community! An informal gathering space for people who want to see our home on the river thrive. Friends of Berri is a chance to meet your community, share, build ideas, innovate and yarn.

Berri Barmera Landcare presents “A Morning at Wilabalangaloo”
Join us on a leisurely guided walk, learn about seed collection, venture into our nursery for seed sowing and propagation technique demonstrations. Help us sow this season’s native plants and have a chat with like-minded people over a nice morning tea. The events will run from 9am to 11am on Friday 14/11 and Saturday 15/11 at Wilabalangaloo 1582 Old Sturt Highway Berri.

Family Day Care is turning 50 years old in South Australia, and they are celebrating this Friday, 14th November with a fun-filled FREE event for families and children! 🌟

Bring the kids along to Berri Number 1 Oval from 10am to 12pm for a morning packed with play, laughter, and exploration.

PUBLIC EDUCATION AWARD WINNERS!!!!!!!

Tonight, we are incredibly proud to announce that we have been awarded the "Inclusive Practices in Education" category at the 2025 Public Education Awards!

Our Principal, Mr. Ridgway, was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the entire BRSC community, and shared that a part of inclusion for BRSC is "listening to our students and creating an environment where their voice matters". Our Inclusion House Cup Carnival was an "opportunity to co-design a learning experience where students could share themselves and connect in a way that was authentic”.

Our Inclusion House Cup has transformed the traditional house sports into a genuine celebration of diversity and belonging at BRSC. Uniquely, our students and staff design and lead activities that reflect and compliment their strengths and interests.

The Inclusion House Cup has been a turning point for our culture, embedding student agency and voice into everyday school life. By fostering unity, creativity and pride, we are showing how student-led innovation can truly help shape a school community into a vibrant, supportive environment.

To our amazing BRSC students, families, and staff, congratulations! This award is a testament to the ever-evolving Burra spirit within our school community.

✨🎄 Early Christmas Market Day🎄The Earth Works Garden Centre is getting into the festive spirit early and to celebrate are hosting an Early Christmas Market on November 8th.

With a huge collection of local stallholders there will be something for everyone, with handmade gifts, crafts, cards, ceramics, mosaics, jewellery, kids toys, clothing, treats, art, coffee, hot donuts and heaps more to help spread Christmas cheer 🎁

Our Town is a place-based initiative in your community, and we’re keen to know how we’re going, what difference we’re making, and what we can do better. This is a short, confidential survey which will ask about your experiences living in Berri over the last 5 years.

As part of an ongoing development and case study of our region, Clear Horizon has walked alongside Our Town Berri, listened and leaned in to construct a community survey.

Clear Horizon has been a partner of Our Town Berri (and the wider Our Town Network) to build our capability and understanding of measurement, evaluation, learning (or MEL, as we call it) and documentation – and specifically, what to do with that information. MEL comes in all forms, for Our Town Berri we see it in our Impact Share newsletter, in data collection spreadsheets, in impact stories we collect throughout the year, annual reports, coffee shop chats and so many other forms! We collate all this information together annually and track it against our Theory of Change to ensure our 10-year vision is on track.
