K-TAPING for Bicep Tendon Tears and Tendinopathy (PART 2)

Using K tape is an effective way to improve pain symptoms for a biceps tendinopathy regardless it be the long and short head tendons) as well as muscle tears. The key is to get the tape stretch correct to facilitate tendon contraction and allow arm movement without the tape restricting or coming off.

This doesn’t replace strengthening - it is just to assist in the rehab process and reduce symptoms during the recovery.

Got Neural Tension? It's tough. This is what works for me.

The Best Sciatic Neural Flossing Techniques for a Nerve Root Entrapment (IT’S NOT IN SITTING!)

Sciatic nerve flossing can be difficult, frustrating, painful and a lot of the time doesn’t seem to help. In my case of my disc bulge issue – it certainly works to reduce the neural tension, hamstring, glute and calf tightness in the leg.

I have tethering of the nerve root to the disc following the inflammation of the trauma, so I need to work on it to relieve the symptoms and see if it frees up over time or needs a cortisone injection to help things along.

Regardless the flossing in kneeling and in rotation are helpful as I don’t respond well to doing it in flexion or sitting as I still have the disc bulge. They both help reduce the symptoms and help me keep me doing strength work and exercise – which is very important.

1. Sciatic Nerve Flossing – Kneeling
2. Sciatic Nerve Flossing – Rotation

AM | Dorsi-flexion ROM - Power band

The use of the powerband for resistance helps to push the tibia forward on the talusm helping the glide of the ankle into dorsiflexion, increasing that range of movement which is needed for normal movement such as walking and running.

Instructions
Attach your power band to a low down object such as a pole or table leg and put around the ankle you want to stretch.

Put the foot with the band in front and step the opposite one back. Start with front of the foot on a low step and slowly bend the front knee, leaning forward into a lunge position. Push forward with the back foot and pull forward with your hands.

💉This was me yesterday all ready for my 3rd Cortisone Injection that I have ever had (1 x shoulder and 1 x knee), but it’s the 1st one for my lumbar spine.

🩻 This is under CT guidance (hence the big machine!) for my L5/S1 disc protrusion with S1 nerve root tethering. This is to see if the cortisone reduces the disc off the nerve root. Part of this is diagnostic and part of it is treatment.

👍 It actually was totally ok and much less painful than I was expecting. The 1st needle for anaesthetic injection was easy and was the key, as I then i hardly felt the 2nd needle. Only the heavy flood of cortisone really.

🙏 Massive Kudos to the radiologist as he was a magician.

💪 Better today, slightly less pain from the nerve root adhesion but that is the anaesthetic working.

Time will tell - look for my next update!
