🌱🌳 Resilience Rooted Deep 🌳🌱

Here at Nunyara Farm, we are constantly reminded of the quiet wisdom of the land. One of the most remarkable teachers is the eucalypt. After fire, drought, or storm, these trees show us the true meaning of endurance.

Deep beneath the soil, many eucalypts hold a secret source of renewal — the lignotuber. This woody swelling at the base of the trunk stores energy and life, allowing the tree to regenerate even when everything above ground has been stripped away. From what looks like devastation, new shoots emerge, strong and green.

To us, the eucalypt is a living reminder that resilience is not about avoiding hardship, but about carrying within us the strength to begin again.

As we continue to grow Nunyara Farm and our natured-based retreat business, we draw inspiration from these guardians of the bush — rooting deeply, weathering challenges, and trusting in the cycles of renewal.

May you, too, find strength in your own hidden reserves and courage to sprout anew. 🌿✨

🌱✨ Spring Growth with Alpaca Manure ✨🌱

Spring is the perfect time to give your veggie garden a boost — and one of our favourite natural helpers at Nunyara Farm is alpaca manure.

Rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, alpaca manure provides essential nutrients to your soil without burning plants. Unlike some manures, it’s gentle enough to be used directly on growing beds, improving soil structure, encouraging earthworm activity, and helping retain moisture.

Adding alpaca manure now means your vegetables will thrive through the season, producing stronger roots, lush foliage, and tastier harvests. It’s nature’s way of nourishing your garden while supporting sustainable, chemical-free growth. 🌿🥕

Whether you’re planting leafy greens, tomatoes, or carrots, a little alpaca love goes a long way!

✨ Old Man’s Beard ✨
Have you ever noticed the soft grey-green lichen draped over old fence posts, weathered trees, or forgotten corners of the bush? This is Old Man’s Beard — a delicate native lichen that Bianca has a deep fascination with.

Long treasured in herbal medicine traditions for its healing and antimicrobial qualities, it reminds us of resilience, renewal, and the quiet wisdom hidden in plain sight. 🌱

Next time you’re out walking, take a moment to see if you can spot it — and notice the quiet beauty that nature offers when we pause to look closely. 💫

🌿✨ Spring at Nunyara Farm ✨🌿

As the days grow longer and the air softens with promise, we welcome the turning of the season into Spring here at Nunyara Farm, Braidwood.

Nothing speaks more beautifully of this renewal than the golden wattle. After fire or hardship, wattle is one of the first to bloom — a living symbol of regeneration, resilience, and hope. Its bright blossoms remind us that even after the darkest seasons, life returns with abundance and joy.

We too have been in a period of hibernation and quiet renewal, tending to the foundations of our vision. As Spring unfolds, we continue preparing for the growth of our little retreat business — a place to rest, restore, and reconnect with the rhythms of nature.

Just as the wattle restores the landscape, Spring invites us all to breathe deeply, open to growth, and welcome new beginnings.

May this season bring lightness, colour, and renewal to your own journey. 🌼💛

Winter Solstice | 2025 ❄️

As the Earth leans furthest from the sun, we arrive at a collective turning point — the shortest day and the longest night.

At Nunyara Farm, we feel this shift deeply. The Winter Solstice invites us inward, toward stillness, toward truth.

In this quiet dark, we are offered a mirror — a chance to sit with what’s real, to ask gently: What is it I truly hold in my heart?

Whether your story is one of healing, resilience, tenderness or strength, the dark makes space for it to be seen.

As the body of Mother Earth turns from the light, she brings the medicine of the South — the wisdom of rest, release, and regeneration.

Here in the hills around Braidwood, the Solstice wraps around us like a slow tide of Silence. Not empty, but full. Deep. Knowing.

At Nunyara, we honour this time as sacred. A moment to choose which seeds we will plant in the rich soil of the unseen, for the season of awakening to come.

Can you feel it?

What are you being called to carry forward?

Why We Chose the Wattle: A Symbol of Renewal at Nunyara Farm 🌿

In the Australian bush, few sights are more uplifting after the devastation of a bushfire than the first flush of golden wattle blooming through charred earth. This resilient native plant, often among the first to regenerate after fire, plays a quiet but vital role in healing the land.

At Nunyara Farm, the wattle is more than just a beautiful native flower—it’s a living emblem of restoration, resilience, and renewal. After bushfire, wattle seeds—many of which lay dormant in the soil for years—are triggered to germinate by the heat and ash. Their rapid growth helps stabilise soil, reduce erosion, and fix nitrogen, enriching the earth for other plants to return. In this way, wattle helps kickstart nature’s own recovery process.

This powerful role in regeneration and restoration is what inspired us to make wattle the heart of our logo at Nunyara Farm. It strongly resonants with the meaning of the word, "nunyara" - to restore to health.

Just as wattle brings life back to the landscape, we hope this land—and the experiences it holds—nurtures renewal in all who visit. Whether you're here to retreat, learn, connect, or simply breathe, Nunyara is a place to come back to yourself, to grow, and to begin again.

The wattle reminds us that even after challenge and change, beauty and strength can rise, resilience prevails And that sometimes, the most transformative things happen quietly, close to the ground, and in their own time.

Be gentle with yourself. 🌿
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need to tick every box or wear every hat perfectly.

This week, soften the pressure. Let yourself be human—beautifully imperfect, feeling deeply, learning as you go.

Choose peace over perfection. Grace over guilt.
You’re doing better than you think. 💛

Bianca's Warming Pumpkin Soup 🍂🍵

There’s something deeply comforting about a bowl of homemade pumpkin soup—warm, nourishing, and full of winter goodness. This simple recipe celebrates the sweet earthiness of butternut pumpkin, with just a handful of ingredients and plenty of flavour.

You’ll need:

1 butternut pumpkin, peeled and chopped

1 brown onion, diced

300ml vegetable stock

Lots of freshly ground black pepper

A pinch of nutmeg

To make:

In a large pot, sauté the onion in a little olive oil until soft and fragrant.

Add the pumpkin, stock, pepper, and nutmeg.

Simmer gently until the pumpkin is tender (about 20–25 mins).

Blend until smooth and velvety.

Taste and adjust seasoning. Add a splash more stock or water if needed.

Optional: Serve with a swirl of coconut cream or a sprinkle of toasted seeds for extra warmth and texture (we LOVE to top our with the yummy and nutritcious mixes from The Seed Cycle ❤️) and fresh parsley from the garden.

This is winter wellness in a bowl—easy, nourishing, and oh-so-satisfying. 🧡
