✅ Valid ABN (Australian Business Number).

✅ Current driver's license.

✅ Your own registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance, OR the ability to drive a client's vehicle if preferred.

The transition to the Support at Home Program (replacing Home Care Packages and Short Term Restorative Care from November 1, 2025) brings significant changes to government-funded aged care! Are you feeling overwhelmed by the new classifications, quarterly budgets, or changes to contributions? 🤯

Changes are coming to Australia's aged care system on November 1, 2025, and a new rights-based Aged Care Act will replace the current laws. The new legislation aims to make aged care safer, fairer, and more respectful by putting the rights of older people first. Here are some of the key changes:
*New Support at Home Program
The current Home Care Packages program will be replaced by the Support at Home Program.
*New Rights and Accountability
A Statement of Rights will be introduced, ensuring that older people have the right to make their own decisions about their care and have those decisions respected.
*Information Sharing
To make it easier for people to understand and access services, there will be a single entry point to aged care. The new act streamlines the assessment process and provides clearer rules for eligibility.

Home For Me are seeking any community members that may wish to become a support worker for local home care package recipients. We will be seeking people with qualifications in Nursing or Cert 3 for personal care and we have various other roles as domestic support, gardening, social support and transport. All you need is an ABN (we can help you get this also) about 45 mins on the computer to set up a Mable profile and any related documents. A community info session with the workforce platform Mable will be coming to Bremer Bay soon. Watch this space 😁
