ooooh EXCITING!!! This new year time is about choosing yourself , it means trusting and believing in yourself more than ever before!

You are capable, you are worthy you don't need outside validation to prove that, or to be burdened by duty and obligation .....
and choosing yourself means that you are creating time for yourself, standing firm in your decisions, you're backing yourself fully and you know that it is okay to say yes to what you truly want and no to what you dont...

It is a space you can breathe into — gentle, spacious, and quietly powerful... the essence being -

I am allowing this year to unfold in ways that feel easeful, supportive, and beautifully aligned.

My nervous system is learning that it is safe to receive more joy, connection, and abundance.

I trust the rhythm of my life, and I move forward with calm confidence and inner clarity.

Each breath right here, right now is a signal that brings me more fully into the version of myself I am ready to become.

Especially at this time of year, it could be the most important thing you do --- take notice what's in your home, and what you are buying for gifts.... these 'every day products' could e really doing far more damage than you realise!

- Perfumes and colognes​

- Aftershaves and body sprays​

- Deodorants and antiperspirants​

- Soaps, body washes, and hand washes​

- Shampoos , conditioners​, masks

Please - opt for products with simple, recognisable ingredients, and avoid labels listing "fragrance", "parfum", as this just translates to 'toxic chemicals that harm your body''.... they can legally hide 100's of ingredients in one word on the label!

If possible, switch out conventional personal care, cosmetic, and household products for certified organic, natural, toxin-free, or eco-labelled alternatives.

💯 Fact - YOUR BODY FINDS SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCE STRESSFUL

Synthetic fragrances are artificially manufactured compounds that lack sufficient safety data - and please know that allergies, sensitisation and pigmentation issues are just scratching the surface... the more significant and conveniently ignored issues include ENDOCRINE DISRUPTION.

This is important to know. Why? Well.... Our endocrine system is our body’s signaling and messenger pathways of hormones. All of them. Testosterone, oestrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormones, cortisol, etc.

Because our hormones influence all parts of us, it makes sense that endocrine disrupting chemicals - like ARTIFICiAL FRAGRANCES - are linked to all different types of health concerns. You may be personally impacted by some of these? They include (but are not limited to);
- loss of fertility
- reproductive health concerns
- sexual identity (there are scientific reports showing EDCs may have effects on human sexual identity FROM THE TIME OF CONCEPTION related to hormonal programming in utero)
- various forms of cancer
- premature puberty
- obesity/weight gain
- diabetes
- hyper and hypothyroidism
- immune system interference
- mental health disorders

The effects of EDCs can extend to all other systems of the body. This could be your NERVOUS SYSTEM , via neurotransmitter interference, blood–brain barrier dysfunction, even neurodegenerative disease, and cardiovascular systems (hypertension, arrhythmia, atherosclerosis).

Want a bit more of an explanation?

An endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC), such as parfum or perfume, can impact the endocrine system in various ways, including:

Disrupting hormone production and elimination
Interfering with hormone signaling by either activating a receptor through binding or blocking access to the receptor site
Disturbing the hormonal signaling pathway after receptor activation
Affecting or overexpressing transport proteins that facilitate hormone movement within the body

Additionally, EDCs may speed up the elimination of free hormones, resulting in reduced hormone activity in the body. There is also a potential for hindering the removal process, leading to an excess of hormones beyond normal levels.

Many fragrance-related chemicals are lipophilic (fat-soluble), leading to accumulation in fat cells and increasing the body's overall toxic load over time, changing us as we age... we become more susceptible to more toxins (and, let's face it, humans have made A LOT so far!)
Oxidative byproducts and secondary pollutants (such as formaldehyde and ultrafine particles) can persist in indoor environments and further burden detoxification pathways.
So - to me, anyway, and perhaps now to you? - it makes sense that avoiding or minimising all synthetic fragrances will support you, and help you thrive!
