Lunchbox Week 2026

A great reminder that balanced lunchboxes don’t need to be complicated — just built around the basics. Using the Australian Dietary Guidelines as a guide, focusing on the 5 food groups, wholegrains, lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and keeping discretionary foods occasional can help support growth, learning and sustained energy across the school day.

Small, realistic changes make a big difference over time. Whether that’s switching to wholegrain bread, adding an extra veggie, or keeping water as the drink of choice.

Saving this for your next grocery shop might make the week ahead a little easier!

How often should you eat?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Meal timing is flexible and should fit your lifestyle, preferences, and energy needs. As long as meals are balanced and you’re meeting your energy requirements across the day, the “right” schedule is the one that works for you.

Fitness goals in 2026? Don’t forget to fuel. 💪

What you eat before training matters — not for “burning more calories,” but for energy, performance, and recovery.

2–4 hours before training:
Aim for a balanced meal with carbohydrates to fuel your session, protein to support muscle, and foods you know sit well for you. This helps top up glycogen stores in your muscles and keep energy levels steady.

30–60 minutes before training:
A small, easily digested carbohydrate snack can help boost energy without causing gut discomfort. Think low fibre, low fat, and simple carbs.

Training under-fuelled can increase fatigue, impaired performance, and make it harder to train consistently, especially as intensity or volume increases.

If you’re unsure how to fuel around your training, or feel flat during sessions, individualised nutrition support can make a big difference.

✨ At Every-Bodies Dietetics, we help you fuel in a way that supports your goals — without restriction or confusion.

If food comes with rules, guilt, or constant overthinking — this might resonate.

Diet culture teaches us to mistrust our bodies and chase “perfect” eating.
But you’re allowed to eat without guilt, labels, or punishment.

At Every-Bodies Dietetics, we support you to build a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food — without rigid rules or restriction.

Health is not a moral achievement. ✨

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be perfect.

One meal, one snack, or one day doesn’t define your health.
What matters most is the overall pattern — consistency, flexibility, and nourishment over time.

Let go of the “all or nothing” mindset and focus on habits that are realistic, sustainable, and supportive of your wellbeing.

✨ Progress > perfection
💬 Save this for days when food feels hard
