I was once like you…

🤷🏼‍♀️ I never knew how much or what I should be eating

😕 I lived on salads and super restrictive low calorie diets

😣 I never knew what type of exercise was the best for weight loss

🤨 I struggled with discipline and motivation

😔 I felt lost and confused and thought I would never achieve what I wanted to.

😓 I battled being over weight and also being anorexic.

😭 I forever thought it was just a never ending cycle of trialing new diets, new detox’s, new exercises and thought that’s just the way it was…

I could not of been further from the truth!

✅ There are ways to succeed, it is less confusing than I thought, it is straight forward and there is support out there.

Please take a second to say WELLDONE to my client here. She has lost nearly 6kg since seeing me so far!
I couldn’t be more proud, she’s been so consistent with her food and training and is reaping the benefits of her hard work.

Keep pushing through those goals 🙌🏼 we are well on our way to a whole new you.
The best thing about her journey; it hasn’t been like all the others she’s been on. This one she has enjoyed the most because she gets to eat the food she wants to, no low calorie restrictive diets and a much more balanced lifestyle with training.

SQUAT FORM 🏋🏼‍♀️

I’ve come across so many people that are unable to perform a body weight squat with correct form.

The biggest mistake I see is people leaning to far forward, pushing there knees too far forward and curving their lower back.

Instead, think:

Hips back as you bend at the knees

Sit into your heels

Keep the weight on the whole of your feet

Drive your knees out at the bottom of the squat

Keep chest up

Some top tips to help:

Warm your glutes up with a band to create more activation. If our glutes are weak or not activated our knees will often cave in at the bottom of the squat.

Stretch out your hips, hamstrings, calves and ankles! Most people are super tight in these areas which prevents them getting down into a squat.

You can use plates under your heels to assist with range of motion. But I do recommend improving your mobility.

Improve the strength of your posterior chain; glutes and hamstrings.

When you incorrectly perform a squat, it will often result in lower back and knee pain. Which isn’t what we want 🙅🏼‍♀️

Another great tip is to video your form and see where you need to improve. As you can see here has improved on her squat form so much in the last few weeks. Her spine is much more neutral and she’s sitting more comfortably into her squat.

Do you prefer having abs or strength?

Gotta say I love abs but I’d much rather have my strength. Abs look great but you don’t always feel great having them. Some of us can walk around with abs and feel great! But most of us aren’t that genetically gifted.
Strive more for performance based goals rather than really low body fat. What’s even better when you don’t have abs?
You get to eat more food 🤤 and lift heavy ass weights 🤓

The only person your letting down by not going for that walk, getting your cardio in, by not doing that gym session, by not hitting the numbers you need to in the gym, by eating over your calorie intake...is yourself. Don’t forget that.

My plant based or vego friendsssss I tried this last night and it’s a winner for me 🙌🏼 I just added grated carrot, zucchini, mushrooms, jar of pasta sauce and had it with pulse pasta (from coles or Woolworths).
