The cold, hard evidence is in…
Ice baths support recovery, boost mood, and build resilience.

Most people think cold water is uncomfortable. And they’re right! 😆🥶But it’s also one of the most powerful health tools we have + it’s A LOT OF FUN!

Two new scientific studies just came out — and they both support what I’ve seen in my research, my practice, and in the people I’ve worked with for years with the Thermalist Method.

One of the studies is a pilot study which followed cold-water swimmers (age 45 and up) at the Geneva Christmas Cup (50% women included). They were monitored with heart sensors for 10 days. Despite exposure to very cold water (7°C), they didn’t observe dangerous heart rhythm linked to the cold.

That’s a big deal.

The second study looked at how cold water helps athletes recover. Those who used cold immersion had lower levels of blood lactate (a marker of muscle fatigue), and their heart rate returned to baseline faster — even 24 hours later.

So yes, the science is catching up.

But here’s the real point:
Cold water is not just about what alone happens in the muscles. It’s about building a relationship with stress. This is where it ads up to me.
You learn how to breathe through discomfort. You meet your edges. You come back more grounded. You have rebalanced your cells, calibrated your brain chemistry and the CTRL+ALT +DELETE effect will help you refocus - And who doesn’t need that today??

I don’t share this to convince you cold is the only solution. Cause it’s not, but what I continue to learn is that if used right, it repairs the damage of our modern life.

The way it affects our physiology, mood, resilience — And now we have even more data to back it up.

Let me know if you’ve experienced any of this firsthand. I read your comments and appreciate everyone of them ✨
