It was a privilege to attend the Pharmacy Guild of Australia parliamentary dinner last night on behalf of Chronic Pain Australia.

Great to celebrate that for the first time in 70+ years of the PBS there has been a reduction in the copayment which will benefit up to 19 million Australians who do not have a pension or concession card.

On a personal note I also met the architect of same-sex marriage The Hon. Warren Entsch and was able to thank him personally for leading the greatest social change Australia has seen. Serendipitously, this was also with my favourite , Lisa Nissen who introduced me to my wife!

Proud to be a pharmacist and grateful to work with so many talented and compassionate people in healthcare.

Recently I spoke to ABC News to bring awareness to some of the most hardest hit chronic pain warriors who live in rural and remote Australia.

Through my work at Chronic Pain Australia myself and my colleagues are calling for Triple AAA standards of care for all Australian's living with chronic pain. Our community should be able to access high quality and affordable care within their local area.

Finishing National Pain Week on a high presenting on my favourite subject to talk about and .

Too much harm is occurring in practice by enforced tapering of opioids. Patients need to be in the driving seat and given agency.

How we do this:
- they determine if this is the right choice
- they determine the pace of tapering
- they can opt to stop tapering
- they can return to the previous effective dose (with support and guidance) if pain and function deteriorates

We should be aiming for “lowest comfortable dose”

Humbled by the passionate pharmacist eager to support patients.

It was so wonderful to kick off APP in style last night with two of my favourite ladies in pharmacy! Today I’m hanging out at the Johnson & Johnson stand with Debbie Rigby chatting about all things chronic pain management. Come say hello! 👋

HAPPY WORLD PHARMACIST DAY 🙌 for the past 2 years I have had the privilege of working on a large scale project at - a great challenge with lots of learnings in the highly volatile environment of COVID-19. This chapter is coming to an end and I’m grateful for the amazing clinicians that I worked with - they have certainly cultivated my skills as a pharmacist.
Today I get to celebrate with this babe 👶 who has taught me more than any book, job or masterclass in the last wonderful 11 weeks.

Now for some well deserved time off to self reflect and most importantly spend time with my fam bam 👩‍👩‍👧.

I hope all the pharmacists out there have the opportunity to take some time out from a 2 year marathon of ups and downs. It’s been a challenge but mostly a fun roller coaster that we should all be very proud of our efforts and dedication to the community.

Pharma mums!!!👩‍⚕️👶
We either work together, have worked together or held hands during intern exams.
Now look at us 😍🥲
It was great to introduce to these gals, cuddle babes and share stories. We also discovered the one thing we all have in common is subscribing to the evidence based approach.

Early on some amazing friends of ours shared the by Dr Pam Douglas. I highly recommend and if you are brissy based Dr Pam Douglas runs shared medical appointment sessions which we have found so helpful and supportive.

Green screen action shot from Masterclass 2021.

June is migraine awareness month and this year the theme is “your migraine, your way!”

What a privilege it was to present on the role of pharmacists in supporting those that live with migraines. Migraine is the 6th leading cause of years lived with disability - migraines suck, so please ask for support when you need it 🙏

Could not stop myself from capturing a green screen baby bump shot
