ATTENTION📍

As anticipated as a result of Ex Tropical Cyclone Alfred, unfortunately a big majority of internal staff are without power, internet and phone reception.

Whilst we are hopeful power and telecommunication towers will be restored quickly in the affected areas, you may not be able to contact your JustUs & Co contact for part of the upcoming week.

For all support work participants, all scheduled support shifts are still able to go ahead if it is safe for staff to travel and attend, please be aware that some staff may not be able to get out to you and we will not be able to notify you.

If you are able to, please reach out to family and friends for back up support if needed and in case your support worker is unable to make it to shift.

Please stay safe out there, we will continue working to speak to anyone affected by the current outages and road closures.

**CLOSURE FRIDAY 7th March**

Justus & Co will be closed on Friday March 7th due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred in the following business areas:
- Support Coordination
- Employment Support

All business areas will be open and staffed on Thursday 6th March dependent on phone service and internet remaining unaffected.

Existing participants: if you require assistance to prepare for the incoming cyclone, please make contact with your JustUs & Co representative during business hours on Thursday 6th March. Our team will be on standby to provide as much assistance as possible prior to closure on Friday.

PLEASE NOTE: JustUs & Co support division will remain on-call for existing scheduled support shifts for the duration of the cyclone subject to phone service and internet accessibility.

Keeping staff and participants safe is our number one priority during this time and we will do everything we can to ensure we are available to support you through this event.

Good Evening,

We want to take a moment to update you on the current situation regarding the approaching Cyclone Alfred and how it may impact communications and operations of JustUs & Co.

Communication Disruptions:
In the event that we lose power and/or phone lines, please be aware that we may be uncontactable until services are restored. If you need urgent assistance, please plan accordingly and ensure you have backup methods of communication where possible.

Safety Precautions for Those in Affected Areas:
For those located in the regions where the cyclone is expected to make landfall, please prioritise your safety.
Ensure you have:

-A cyclone preparedness plan in place.
-Emergency supplies, including food, water, medications, and batteries.
-Knowledge of your nearest emergency evacuation centre, should you need to relocate.
-Access to emergency updates via radio or government websites.

Closures & Service Disruptions:
All schools in Southeast Queensland (SEQ) will be closed on Thursday and Friday as a precautionary measure.

All public transport services will also be suspended during this time. Please make alternate travel arrangements if needed.

Due to the above factors, regular services may be impacted with little to no notice or communication. We will endeavour to update you individually if your scheduled services will be impacted between Thursday and Sunday.

We encourage everyone to stay informed by monitoring official emergency channels, such as the Bureau of Meteorology and local government alerts. If you have any concerns or require assistance in preparing, please don’t hesitate to reach out before potential outages occur.

What a fantastic time we had at our JustUs & Co 2024 Christmas BBQ in the park! 🎄🍖 Thank you to all of our wonderful staff who joined us for delicious food, laughter, and wonderful conversations. It was a great opportunity to celebrate our achievements this year and strengthen our team spirit. Let's carry this holiday cheer into the new year and continue to support one another. Beautiful outcome for beautiful people. We are proud to be a part of making a difference alongside other likeminded providers 🌈☀️

It’s people who keep people safe.

What an incredible couple of weeks providing intensive support for a person in crisis, who has needed so much assistance.

Thank you to the many supports who have been engaged - the BERT team, hospital liaison, QLD police, legal aid, and all the “usual suspects” in NDIS - Support Coordinators, GP, Allied Health, Support Workers, Carers.

While the journey is far from over, acknowledging those who have provided unwaving support, particularly carers everywhere who stand by loved ones at significant personal cost to mental and physical wellbeing.

Through all the hardship of these past weeks, capturing a moment of peace, is a moment to treasure.
