Hey guys,
In Feb a few friends and I are going on a pretty epic kayaking and climbing mission..
We’ll be the first team in the world to kayak and climb across Bass Strait. Our team of four will combine two adventure disciplines as we paddle 325km across one of the worlds most notorious stretches of ocean while stopping along the way to explore and establish rock climbing first ascents on remote, un-climbed, granite sea cliffs.
We will re-visit some of the only known rock climbing routes in the middle of the Bass Strait which were established by a group of Australian climbers in 1990 – many which have never seen a repeat.
We will also be making an adventure film of our journey which we will submit into adventure film festivals around the world! As part of the message of the film, we will be collecting data on plastic waste, discussing how it effects marine environments and how consumers can make changes in their lives to reduce the amount of plastic they use. We aim to inspire others to get outside, push their limits, be explorers, and take care of the Earth.
The expedition will bring together a hand-picked team from Australia and USA including rock/bike/ice/kayak guides, adventurers, a master of puns, and an experienced film maker/sea kayak guide from Alaska!
Our team is currently seeking partners/sponsors for the trip - if you would like to partner with our world first expedition, know someone who may be a good fit, or would like help out please reach out! For more info check out the video in this post and then our website (links below).
