Lest we forget.
THE POPPIES DANCE
Swaying too and frow
Bobbing up and down
Two stepping in the breeze
The Poppies begin to dance.
Children’s joyous laughter
Rings across the breeze
Tiny legs are running
Chasing the Poppies in their dance.
A field of colourful confetti
Floating tall amongst the grass
Bringing joy to young and old
As the breeze makes them dance.
Lest we forget, foreign shores
Where war waged on our freedom
On battlefields across the seas
On fields where poppies danced
Today the guns are silent
Children’s laughter fills the air
A minute of silent remembrance
And the Poppies cease to dance.
