This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative dedicated to challenging stereotypes and celebrating the many strengths of neurodivergent individuals.

Neurodiversity reminds us that differences in how people think, learn, communicate, and experience the world are a natural part of human diversity.

At The Psych Professionals, we are proud to be a neurodiversity-affirming practice. Our work focuses on understanding each individual’s unique profile, supporting wellbeing, and helping people access the tools and environments that allow them to thrive.

We also provide assessment services that can offer clarity around learning profiles, strengths, and support needs.

Brendon Hayes, one of our Registered Psychologists, recently shared some insights into a question we hear often: how can workplace trauma affect sleep?

In this recent youtube video, Brendon talks through some of the most common questions people ask when they notice their sleep changing after a difficult experience at work.

If this is something you’ve been experiencing or if you know someone who is experiencing this, know that understanding the connection can be an important first step.

How to support your child during Naplan?

Big tests can make everything feel urgent and high stakes, but the goal isn’t perfection; it’s building resilience.

✔ Help them focus on one small task at a time
✔ Praise effort, strategy, and persistence
✔ Keep routines steady (but flexible)
✔ Protect downtime
✔ Remind them that hard things are hard, not proof they’re “not good enough”

NAPLAN is one moment in their academic journey.

The confidence and coping skills they build during it?
That’s what will carry them forward.

Save or share this to someone who might need it 🤍

Today is International Women’s Day, a moment to recognise and celebrate the impact women have in shaping lives, strengthening communities, and leading meaningful change through the work they do every day.

At The Psych Professionals, we are proud to be more powerful together. Our team of women psychologists bring expertise, compassion, leadership, and dedication into their work every day, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

Today, we’re not only celebrating the incredible women on our team but also in the community and the impact they make together. 💜

If Punch has taught us anything… is to never give up. 🐒🧡

Whether he’s clinging to his little comforts or tackling the impossible, Punch reminds us that it’s okay to take things one step at a time. We might not have an orange monkey to hug, but we can carry a few words of encouragement with us wherever we go.

So, in honour of Punch, here are some positive reminders worth keeping close to help tackle the hard days:
🧡 I will allow myself to rest when my body needs it.
🧡 I won’t give up on myself.
🧡 I will look to others when I need guidance.
🧡 I will give myself permission to slow down.

Remember, you are more than your worst day.

With International Women’s Day this weekend, we’re proud to be celebrating the incredible women on our team throughout the week and the care, skill, and impact they bring to children and families every day.

🎨 First up: Caitlin with another episode of Caitlin’s Corner: Building Impulse Control Through Play

Looking for a fun, practical way to help your child slow down and think before reacting?

In this episode of Caitlin’s Corner, Caitlin shares how a simple card game can be a powerful tool for building impulse control as children’s brains continue to develop.

Through play, children practise waiting, noticing urges, and responding thoughtfully (even when it’s tricky!), all while staying engaged and having fun.

👀 Watch Caitlin demonstrate the game and explain why it works, with the full video on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oW3xGyumuY

World Teen Mental Wellness Day is held each year on March 2, focusing on raising awareness of the mental health challenges teenagers face, reducing stigma, and encouraging open conversations.

With school pressure, friendships, family expectations, identity exploration, and social media, it’s no surprise that anxiety is common for many teens. Noticing the signs early and offering support can make a meaningful difference.

In today’s post, we’re sharing four simple, everyday strategies that can help teens manage anxiety and feel more grounded
