❓TOOLS TO HELP WITH LYMPHATIC MASSAGE IN CLINIC

We have a few 'tools' we can use when doing Lymphatic Massage:

⭐️Cornflour: we use cornflour rather than oil as we like to grip the skin, not glide over the skin
⭐️Tape: Lymph Taping can be a great tool to help with Lymphatic Drainage, post treatment time
⭐️Pump: A leg sleeve can be working one leg, while we work on the other leg
⭐️Cold Laser: Used for stubborn fibrotic tissue, especially after surgery/liposuction
⭐️Cupping: Can be helpful for those stubborn fibrotic areas, that need a little more than hands or laser

While there are many 'tools' to use, hands on is the best way to FEEL what the issue is. From feel, we can decide what the best course of action is for each individual client, each treatment. Consent is always asked before we use any tools during a treatment.

🌞 The last few weeks, more and more clients are saying 'all of a sudden, my leg/arm is swelling and/or feels heavy. We haven't even reached summer or our humid weather yet!🥵

There are many 'tools' to help with Lymphoedema and Lipoedema. We believe compression garments are important to help with swollen and heavy limbs.

There are SOOOO many brands, styles and fabrics out there it can be confusing. There is no one brand that suits everyone.

If you're not sure where to start, book in to see Lisa or Tara and we can discuss what maybe best for you. You may suit knee high, thigh high, pantyhose, wraps, 2 piece … the options are so varied. Whatever garment you go with, Compression Companies say garments have a 6 month lifespan.

Have you checked your garments from last summer? It maybe time to update to help minimise your swelling this summer.

We use Lympha Press Pumps in our pump room and have 3 style of garments, available in 2 sizes.

**Pant: Our most popular garment, it covers you toe to ribs! We love this as it covers so much of your body, meaning less work for you to move fluid out after your pump session
**Leg Sleeve: Clients with swelling in the lower leg choose this pump, or those not able to have the pump on their abdomen.
**Arm Sleeve: What our clients love about this garment is it pumps your trunk as well as the arm.

Whatever garment you choose, it is important to:
✔Open your lymphatic system before and after your pump session
✔Chest is elevated
✔Pump pressure is suitable for your needs

The health and comfort of our clients is paramount!
A therapist will do the opening sequence before and after your pump and will be close by if have questions, especially on your first visit.
