C a t c h people doing good.

We so often look for other people’s flaws, faults, issues and mistakes.

We swim in a sea of negativity.

But what if you trained yourself to catch people doing good and celebrated them.

What if you looked for and saw their strengths, kindnesses, purpose, gentleness and honesty.

How would that improve you and how would that improve them?

You’d start to see the goodness in you, you’d start to catch yourself doing good, you’d crush self criticism and demolish scepticism of others, you’d create reconnection to yourself and your world.

Go catch people doing g o o d.

Some people submit projects in quiet offices.

I submit polished ideas to make life less pain and more PLAY, while negotiating snacks and magnetic tile building with my tiny bosses.

Watch this space, the positive energy, creativity and magic that comes from this level of expert chaos management is unreal ✨

Trust is a language of its own.

I’ve know Montanna, who is sunshine in human form, for 6 years, and it was divine timing that she has effortlessly stepped into being an integral part of my private counselling practice.

There is no one else I have trusted to have the depth, personal experience and compassion to unconditionally witness and hold space for the traumatised and excruciatingly hurt parts of others.

I feel so lucky and I know anyone who is blessed to have time with her will leave lighter and changed in such meaningful ways.

Thinking brain vs Feeling brain

Thinking brain people thrive with short, sharp fact driven information.

They may seem introverted and reserved and can feel criticised when being pestered to give more information than they want to.

Feeling brain people thrive with long meaningful conversations, explanations and to be understood through repeating stories and having them listened too and replayed back in detail.

They can seem overly enthusiastic and share all that’s in their minds, and can feel let down when conversations are cut off or stops.

Thinking and feeling brained people can clash, not because one way is better than the other but because they don’t speak the same language and have different needs of being understood.

Are you a thinking or feeling brain?

Who in your life is opposite to you that you may feel misunderstood by?

The best thing to do is know what type you are and respect others who are different to you, even trying to see what you can learn from them.

Trauma = Unresolved stress

Science shows there is a 10 day psychological window after a traumatic experience where we have the opportunity to resolve the stress before it imbeds and becomes a risk factor for PTSD.

Trauma is any stress you feel is unresolved. Any stress, be it a natural disaster or a disaster at work or being sick or losing someone or a challenging childhood.

We can often minimise or try to shrink our trauma by saying it wasn’t as bad as other people.

Our inner stress doesn’t work that way, it continues to come up and bring hurt to the surface for us because it’s asking for validation, compassion and resolution, rather than detachment and comparison.

What would it be like for you if you could be kind and see your hurt for what it is without running from it.

How much would the next generation benefit from witnessing so much self worth and compassion?

Being listened too is so close to being loved it’s hard to tell the difference.

In an amazing conversation with the talented Montanna today, I learnt a beautiful question.

“Do you need to grieve or grow?”

Which is just such a beautiful thing to ask or be asked.

Right now you may just want the space held for you to grieve.

In a few months you may want to grow from your experiences.

A positive therapy experience is about meeting you where you’re at and walking with you, at your pace to where you want to go ❤️
