Day 2 of my bleed and I’ve taken up my post for the day..

On the couch.
Blanket wrapped.
Book in hand.

This is what cyclical living looks like for me — not pushing, not performing, not producing. Just softening. Listening. Letting my body be the guide.

As women, we are taught to override this phase. To carry on as if nothing is happening. But my womb asks for stillness, and I choose to honour her.

So today, my work is rest.
My productivity is presence.
My offering is devotion to my own rhythm.

The world can wait.
The tide will turn again soon enough 🌙✨

That moment the steam first rises…
and the whole body exhales.

Before entering the warmth, I offered myself an abdominal massage — slow, reverent, listening hands softening the tissues, inviting circulation, waking the waters within. A quiet preparation. A homecoming before the ceremony even begins.

Then the seat.
The breath.
The first kiss of steam.

Instant bliss.
Muscles release.
The nervous system sighs.
The womb space receives.

Pelvic steaming is more than a practice.
It is a ritual of remembrance — of warmth, of softness, of ancient wisdom carried in the tissues of the pelvic bowl.

A moment to be held.
A moment to return.
A moment to listen.

May every woman remember the medicine of warmth 🤍

There is something that awakens when I beat the drum — felt in my bones, a rhythm that quiets the mind and calls me back into my body. Each beat feels like a conversation with the earth beneath my feet and the heartbeat of something far greater than myself. I’m still learning, still finding my rhythm. I’m grateful to be a part of this most amazing drumming family ✨

On Saturday, we had an incredible Samba workshop, learning new skills and soaking up the joy that only music and movement can bring (Thank you, Vini!)

If any of my Bundaberg friends feel curious to see what we do, Baylando Latin Fusion is hosting an open day on Saturday, 17th January, at 5:30 pm. Come dance, drum, or simply soak up the vibe 💛

Maiden Circles are sacred gatherings for girls stepping into womanhood.
A place to learn about the menstrual cycle, understand their changing bodies, and feel held in sisterhood as they cross this threshold.

No shame.
No fear.
Just knowledge, connection, and deep self-trust — planted early.

For the girls becoming women, and the women who will one day thank us for beginning this way 🌙

Four years ago was about the time that I started committing to self.

Daily, I'd arise before children to enjoy a warm cup in my hand, and I'd read or meditate. I used to anoint myself with oils and adorn myself with my amber beads and other semi-precious jewellery.
I danced, drummed, and jumped into the ocean whenever I got the chance.

Getting thrown back into motherhood again, and with the traumatic family events that followed, I lost my way. I lost my sense of worth, and I stopped giving myself time and my body the rest and nourishment it needed and the anointing and adornment that I deserved.

The realisation that it all comes down to a lack of self-worth is - s**t, to be honest.

How many other women here struggle with this, too?

So now here I am, with new commitments - not because it is the Gregorian new year - but because it's about fu***ng time!
(who really vibes with the Gregorian calendar s**t anyway?! We're women, we're cyclical beings and have our own goddamn cycles to tune into)

I choose love
I choose nourishment
I choose joy
I choose pleasure
I choose to honour myself as the goddamn Queen that I am

And - I hope this is a reminder that you are so fu***ng worthy and you deserve to love, nurture and make decisions that support yourself, too.
