Rechenberg and APERS were proud to attend and sponsor this year’s Feros Care Team Awards. The 90s themed celebration marked their 35th year and it was an incredible night filled with colour, energy and genuine community spirit.

We met so many amazing people and listened to inspiring stories of team members who consistently go above and beyond for the people they support. It was a reminder of the heart and dedication that drives this organisation and why we are so proud to be associated with them.

This week, we shine a light on the unpaid carers across Australia who give so much of themselves, supporting family and friends with disability, chronic illness, mental health challenges, ageing, and more. National Carers Week gives us a chance to recognise, celebrate and support the 3 million+ carers in our communities. (carersweek.com.au)

At APERS, we see first-hand how important it is for carers to feel safe and supported in the homes of those they care for. We’re committed to doing our part to protect dignity, safety and independence.

Here’s how you can help show your support this week:

🗣️ Reach out and check in, a message, call or visit can mean a lot.
⏸️ Offer a break, help with errands, chores or give them time for themselves.
💬 Express your gratitude, a simple “thank you” can go a long way.
🤝 Ask, “How can I help you today?”, listen before assuming.

🌿 Encourage self-care, remind carers to look after their own wellbeing too.

Let’s come together this week to uplift carers in our region, recognise their sacrifice, and take action to support them. 💪
