December and christmas time can be tough for most people. Crowds, traffic, noise, heat, and how much longer everything takes plus extra tasks. That’s tough on anyone’s mental health. But.. imagine adding to that if you start the day already struggling- if you’re tired from medication, having family issues, living rough or feeling isolated. The list goes on. Hopefully we can all be a little extra kind to one another and acknowledge others may be struggling too.

Changes are coming, as they naturally do at this part of the school year, and your young person have already been through quite a few of them...

That wait for the class lists to be released for next year can bring alot of anxiety and apprehension, in both the young person and parent!

I.C.U is all about Youth Mentoring and Life Coach, offering 1:1 or small group sessions for young people aged 10–21 years.

My focus is on intentional connection meeting each young person exactly where they’re at, and helping them move forward with purpose, empowerment, and real-world skills.

Each session is tailored to the individual, with focus areas that can include:

Life transitions (e.g. starting high school, moving schools or homes)

Emotional intelligence & self-awareness

Next Chapter skills (e.g. first job prep, resumes, job searching, interview confidence)

Learning strategies (motivation, organisation, time management)

Sessions run for 1 hour on Saturdays, and the best part? I come to you, whether it’s your home, a favourite park, the beach, or by the river, wherever your young person feels safe and comfortable.

Let’s build confidence, skills, and self-belief, one session at a time.

Hi everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, I’m Amanda the founder of I.C.U.

With over 20 years’ experience working with children and youth, including 16 years as a qualified teacher aide, I’ve seen firsthand the gaps that traditional education often leaves behind. That’s why I created I.C.U. To step in where systems fall short, offering real support that changes lives.

A year ago, I added a Certificate IV in Youth Work to my toolkit, and I now work closely with young people to help them navigate the world of education and employment with confidence.

I’m also a proud single mum of two amazing young adults, and when I’m not working, you’ll probably find me on the SUP board or hanging out with my beloved family and friends.

I.C.U. is more than just a program, it’s a passion. It’s about showing up, seeing people for who they are, and helping them step into their full potential.

Thank you for being here. Big things are coming, and I’m so excited to take you along for the journey.

☀️ Perfect location for an intake session today ☀️

So, how do our sessions work?

✨️ I come to you wherever your young person feels safe and comfortable ☺️

✨️ That can be at your house, the town library, or, weather pending, at a local park, the beach, or even by the river ☺️

✨️ Face to face timeslots are only available on Saturdays at this stage, between 8:30am to 3:00pm ☺️

✨️ Sessions can be 1 hour or 30 minutes in length, though one hour is more beneficial ☺️

✨️ We start with a 1 hour intake session to discuss goals and expectations, plus to complete some required paperwork ☺️

✨️ Session frequency can be weekly or fortnightly, you lock in the time that works for you and your young person ☺️

✨️ We aim for a 4+ session commitment to allow for new patterns, strategies, and behaviours to process and settle into your young person's routine ☺️
