The many types and sizes of vaginal support pessaries!
A pessary can be a great way to help improve symptoms and/or prevent pelvic organ prolapse.
When a pessary fits well it should be comfortable. There are many different styles and sizes as no two vaginas are the same!
If you are someone that has symptoms of prolapse or thinks they are at risk of prolapse a pessary might be for you. Have a chat to your WH physio, GP, or gynaecologist about it 🤎

Planking is a great global exercise incorporating your core and shoulder stability 🙌🏻
🤰🏻Planking moves are also ok to do when pregnant (keeping in mind your individual strength & form of course). But it terms of abdominal exercise in pregnancy, planks are ok! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Guidelines say we need to cease exercising flat on our back after the first trimester. An easy fix by using the jump board to elevate our pregnant clients 👌🏻

Is your pelvic floor relaxing well? 🤔🤔
There is so much focus on pelvic floor strength but having an overactive pelvic floor (a pelvic floor that doesn’t relax well) has just as many issues as a weak pelvic floor ❕❕
A few of the more common signs your pelvic floor might be overactive are: pain with in*******se, difficulty with tampons, constipation and straining, recurrent UTI’s, and bladder urgency / frequency 🧐🧐
If you have any of these signs and haven’t had any input from the pelvic health physiotherapy it could be beneficial for you 🙌🏻
Overactive pelvic floors can happen to us at any point in our lives and frequently I see this in people that haven’t had children too🤗✨

^^ That’s a big stat! Prolapse is more common than you think and it really can happen regardless of how ‘fit/ healthy/strong’ you are 🫤🫤
Often when I see post natal mummas that have prolapse they often describe mixed emotions - shock is the most common one.
Shock they didn’t know about prolapse and shock that’s it has happened to them.
If your pregnant or post-natal (ie. have children any age!) it’s beneficial to know about prolapse - what it is, the symptoms, the risks factors, and treatment option of course 🙌🏻

I was told today that members at a cross fit gym are being told to ‘pad up’ before workouts and even going that extra mile and keeping pads behind the counter 😳🫠🫠
If you are leaking with your workouts it’s a sign your pelvic floor isn’t coping.
Book an apt. with a Pelvic Health Physio (& it doesn’t mean you have to stop doing what you love!) 🧡
